Hallelujah

🚨| The word among club brokers is Spurs are now more “for sale" than just casual interest. There’s no rush, and it’s likely to be gradual, but the club is quietly on the market. @TheAthleticUK

Not a religious man, but would seriously consider turning to religion if Spurs were sold and ENIC and Levy left. Hallelujah!!!! Always thought it was a bit strange no naming rights have been sorted on the stadium. Maybe it was always a case of building the structure and stadium, then selling it off. The sticking point will always be the asking price, which we know will be extremely hard for buyers with what these clowns want, but I’ll take any news like this. I Live for the day when Spurs are not owned by ENIC and Levy f** off!!!

I also dispute the one league cup in 21 years being a result of poor ownership. We’ve reached numerous finals and semi finals in that time and the players/coach of the time have failed to get us over the line - that is an entirely separate cultural mentality issue in my opinion and little to do with ownership.
---

Not sure about this.

Aside from the very obvious times that Levy has failed to back managers when we were on the verge of winning things (Arry and Poch in particular) the cultural mentality is very much in the remit of the owners. Especially when they've been around so long.

I'm not a ENIC hater and am realistic enough to know that we could easily end up with worse owners. Also that pumping in money doesn't guarantee trophies.. But Levy has consistently made bad football decisions that have cost us at key moments. I'd be happy if someone bought him out, got a new CEO in, and slowly bought out ENIC.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How many of those failures in semi finals and finals under ENIC were at the hands of clubs that were prepared to spend the money required to bring success though, all of them were against clubs with owners who are prepared to spend more than ENIC, barring maybe the Pompey semi final when we were royally shafted by Alan Wiley.

You miss my point. I am not happy plodding along, Our owners have moved us into a position where we are much much better resourced and if they get other shiiit in order within the club then there is nothing stopping us from really challenging in the top 4.

With the foundations that have gone in i expect us to be very serious challengers for the top 4 and id we can maintain that consistency we can then expect to look even higher with the benefit of regular UCL money.

But none of this is instant, 2 clubs in our league have fast tracked themselves to the top in 20 years. Its not the norm. I believe ENIC have earned the right to get this new stadium era to work, the excuses are few to none now and I will judge them on how the next 2 or 3 yeas go because this is the best time for us to really develop as everything is all in place.

Buying a title? That's not why I became a fan or why I love Spurs!

Meanwhile Conte laying into the club’s transfer policy in his press conference. Does not sound like a particularly happy chappy right now.

Seems pleased with the Kulu signing though and suggests he can also play rwb.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Which is weird considering he is left footed!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not really, Kulusevic has scored a number of goals cutting in from the right wing. He has a very good left foot and curls the ball beautifully.

Has he ever played wing back before?

Yeah definitely, it's a good point. There's a glass ceiling in place where you hit the natural limits. The CL final being the perfect example. Though maybe if we'd replaced Dembele and had a proper Kane sub..

Though I'd say how many cups in that time were we in for that worse teams won, or even the league that was up for grabs if we'd made a couple of good signings at the right time. Obviously it's all hindsight and easily argued against, but as fans we all know the frustration of being nearly there and not quite. Saha and Nelsen, no NEW STRIKER, no replacement for Walker..

It's fine margins but there's a tangible difference between making ok or not awful decisions, and the leadership that wins you trophies.

To put it simply, it's been over debated, but Poch didn't win anything. It's not his fault. It's not the players' fault. It's disingenuous to say either didn't want it or try hard enough. But there is a reason. There is a responsibility. I suspect Levy is well aware of it and it's why he hired Jose. Though sacking him before the cup final really undermined that logic and his own position, ultimately.

Levy has to go, for me. New owners or not.

Hating on Lewis is like hating on a bank. Fair enough, but what do you expect? It's on the CEO or whoever makes the actual decisions that matters. See Everton. The bank has signed plenty of blank cheques..

We've spent the majority (all?) of what we've earned as a club under Levy/ENIC just often not in the right way or at the right time. Facker doesn't know what he doesn't know. It's frustrating as all heck. Even with Paratici in you can't escape the feeling Daniel is messing things up.
