La Liga 8K Cameras

For the best league in the world, I’m surprised the prem hasn’t forked out the money to get these cameras in especially because the prem is broadcast worldwide. For all watching on TV it’ll be nice to watch all football games like this:

Sky prem bt etc easily have enough money to do this to enhance the prems reputation

Not everybody has 8k TVs though. I’m guessing the majority don’t. Idk if mine is even 8k or not

The majority of the UK still doesn't have decent quality 4K televisions at this point. The number of people who have decent 8k televisions will be vanishingly small and foe good reason - they cost will be prohibitive and there isn't really any decent amount of content that is being filmed in 8k.

There is also the fact that most people wouldn't be able to notice the difference between 4k and 8k unless they were sat within about 3foot of the screen.

The biggest enhancement to my telly watching experience was getting a pair of glasses a few years ago 🤓

8K looks like 4k but they blur the background to make the focus clearer.

Incorrect. It's the choice of the maker of the picture to blur background not the resolution displayed.

8k is simply double the pixels which gives you double the clarity. It also allows the maker more scope for cropping and zooming without the audience noticing poorer resolution.

Bollix.

As others have said 2x the pixels does not equate to 2x the clarity. What is the definition (sic) of clarity anyway?

It is diminishing returns for the vast majority of people hence they carry on watching in SD/HD or whatever and are happy with the awful compression watching over the internet.

We have already seen this dumbing down in music where the vast majority of folk are listening to cheap, low bitrate subscription services putting quantity and accessibility over quality. On DAB we've seen quality dropped to fit more stations with low bit rate in.

Dunno why but this reminded me of the time I went to my mates and realised he was.using rgb cable from his playstation. When I plugged in a hdmi it was like it went from 0k to 8k 😅 for years he'd not realised

There certainly seems to be an ‘entitled’ attitude amongst UK residents when it comes to accessibility to fast data. An attitude that the rest of the world cannot share. If all you have in, say, the Peruvian Andes, is a 13” B&W cathay tube with a coathanger aerial, you’ll watch that.

Silver I like your posts mostly, so not having a dig here, but the (sic) thing is used when you are quoting something that is spelled wrong by the person.

adverb
used in brackets after a copied or quoted word that appears odd or erroneous to show that the word is quoted exactly as it stands in the original, as in a story must hold a child's interest and ‘enrich his (sic) life’.
