28 countries have won medals, including 20 from Europe, but UK still not won a bean. I thought UK were the world leaders at just about everything? What`s gone wrong?

Anyone watching the Winter Olympics

Watching some of the sports, it's honestly hard to believe they're being performed by actual human beings. The freestyle skiing and snowboarding are just insane – a bit like the BMX at last summer's games.

Need to have speed skating on a track that isn’t just an oval. Would be way more fun. Hairpins, chicanes, king home straight and some proper bends both ways to race each other on

I think the biggest failing of the winter olympics is the lack of being able to merv most of the lasses outside of the iceskating.

Could it be that the countries that have been more successful than us have more snow than us?
Don't really care about the Winter Olympics, as long as we do well in the Summer one.

The Netherlands are the flattest country on the earth, and they don`t have more snow than the UK, but they have 14 medals. Not sure lack of snow can be used as an excuse.

Lack of facilities can though.
Ice skating is popular in Holland in a way it just isn't here. I heard that in Britain we don't have a single track big enough for Olympic speed skaters to practise on. In Holland they have 15. Some of our hopefuls apparently travel to Holland to train there.

You can do short-track on a hockey rink.

Because they’re all ice skating medals, where snow ain’t required

Haven't Britain got any ice skating rinks?

The Winter Olympics are so discriminating. Why does it only cover the winter sports for countries that have sheet weather?
They should include sports that are popular in countries that have mild or even tropical/sub-tropical climates.
