Lack of top strikers in the PL

Every team in the PL has played between 21-25 games this season.

Only 3 players are on double figures in terms of goals and none of those 3 would be classed as out and out strikers. You could argue Jota plays that role but not always.

It seems like the PL is going through a weak phase of strikers right now.

Yeah it's yet more nonsense from Toksvig.

It's just a system thing. Prem is probably at it's highest overall quality ever.

So basically then, if Dortmund put a 70 million release clause on him then they have probably messed up.

Hardly.

Dortmund got him for peanuts on the understanding they dont price him out of his next move, and Raiola gets his cut.

Its what Raiola did with Pogba to Juve from United.

Raiola will probably get more than the transfer fee

I've made this point before. Not many good strikers around now. A very weak league for goal scorers. Salah and Kane is about it, and Kane might be on an early decline.

Fabinho has more league goals than Kane. Not much wrong with Jota though.

I think Kane is still a very good player but his days as a deadly goalscorer may be over if that makes sense.

I think we should stay well clear as I feel he would just step on Bruno’s toes and we would still lack presence in the box.

I’ve wondered about Kane since the euros, whether he was declining or if it was his situation. Still not sure which

It's Kane dropping deep I believe. Not sure what triggered it but it was something I started noticing in Poch's penultimate season. Not sure it's about the change in personnel at Spurs either cause he's been doing it more with England too. Just does not get in as many positions to bang the goals in. Maybe he wants to add more creativity and assists to his game, but his goalscoring is only going to suffer as a result in my opinion. Compared to what it used to be anyway.

I could be wrong but I think Kane’s days of getting 20+ league goals a season are behind him. He’s effectively a number 10 these days.

Didn't do him any harm today! But yeah, he's my main striker in my draft team and I've noticed his insistence on dropping deep and trying to link play. But then he doesn't have the pace to get on the end of the move he's setting up. It's not dissimilar to Rooney when he hit the 30 mark. But I think Kane has more years in his bank than Rooney did at the time and doesn't need to reinvent himself.
