Sorry to bring up the City game so many days after it was played, but I've been unavailable to participate on this forum for a few days.
I'm also not sure if this has been raised before. Kane's disallowed goal really knocked the stuffing out of me! I was jumping up and down celebrating with my son like a madman only to be brought crashing down to Earth when it was ruled out. As a result, when Kane scored the real winner in injury time I just remained rooted to my seat. Kulu was slightly off the screen when he received the ball and I was fearful that he had been caught offside again, so awaited VAR's verdict.
I'll never get that moment to celebrate back. It's not the same doing it after waiting a few minutes for VAR to confirm or otherwise. The technology is great (when used properly) but my word it does kill spontaneous emotion at times.
Did anyone else wait for the VAR verdict before celebrating?!
Not Celebrating Winning Goal Against City!

I went nuts when Kane made it 3-1. All sorts was coming out. It seems that deep down I resent these lottery winning clubs more than I realised.

Just desserts in the end though

A goal never feels right if a hand/arm is involved in the build up.
My instant reaction to Liverpools second at the Lane was VAR will disallow that as the ball hitting Salahs hand played a huge part in the goal being scored 5 seconds later. I couldn't believe it when it was given.
Deliberate or not goals like that shouldn't stand.

i agree with this but I think that's what the rules say at this time. VAR can't change the rules, they apply them.
Those rules are stupid though.

Except we have changed the rules to make VAR workable.

lets be fair, most goals arent tight offsides or w.e so can be celebrated.

Can’t add anything else to the article other than to say I did exactly the same thing - having celebrated the disallowed goal, I just couldn’t celebrate the winner as I just assumed it would be ruled out.

Yeh but OP...I bet you celebrated Sterling's disallowed goal in the champions league like a goal. You'll never forget that moment.

Another thing people forget is that the same thing happened before VAR to some extent. Many times you would not celebrate, waiting to see if the linesman had their flag up. If one goal was disallowed by the flag, you'd hesitate celebrating the next goal until they show whether the linesman had their flag up.
VAR reviews take an average of 30 secs. Its a small cost to pay for accurate and better decision making.
What people need to be moaning about is that they still get many decisions wrong even with a video replay playing in front of them.

Every time Spurs score ( in a live game ) I instantly play it back to see if any Spurs player was anywhere near offside, then wait the official decision, before I register my team has scored.
Am so used to seeing "toe nail" goals scratched off for us, I can no longer bring myself to jump up and down. Once a minute or two has passed, the elation has already gone.
Our official third and winner at City should have left me feeling ecstatic, but the clinical nature of VAR has destroyed all of that.

I thought Kulu seemed pretty onside so celebrated it like crazy

I celebrated both goals wildly.
On other occasions I have just not flinched. When Sanchez got the last minute winner vs Watford i didnt move until it was official. By then my celebration was reduced to more of a fist clench than the unreserved joy that a last minute winner usually merits.

Out of interest...i thought they were factoring in a margin of error with VAR offsides this season, so the drawn lines are a bit thicker and if they overlap then the player is onside but if there is daylight then they are off.
Is that what's happening?
