Short Memories

Don’t post on here often now as the place has descended back to what it was a few years back.

Have people forgotten the 15 years or so of abject misery outside the top flight?

Aside from one season under Monk, we were miles away from returning to the prem.

Bielsa has galvanised the entire club, and has us playing the best football I’ve ever seen Leeds play.

This season hasn’t been anywhere near as good as expected, but why were expectations so high? We overachieved last season, and we’ve had key players missing for almost the entire season.

Phillips, England player of the year.
Bamford, last seasons top scorer with 18 goals.
Cooper, club captain.

Bielsa has been let down massively by the board in both windows, and yes, we’re now staring relegation in the face.
Not signing a striker and central midfielder was suicide and we’ve paid the price.

Bielsa will keep us up and with the right investment, take us forwards.
Is he immune to blame/mistakes? Absolutely not. Drives me mental at times and leaves me perplexed.

But it wasn’t long ago at all we had Hockoday or Heckingbottom in charge, with 10,000 empty seats, fighting to get into the top half of the second division.

Get a grip and get behind the man who’s put us back in the top flight. Any other manager (that we would realistically hire) with this squad would be rock bottom.

Couple of results and we stay in the division. Learn from this season, back the man at the helm and we can continue to progress as a club.

Come on Leeds!

No way. Analysis is way off and fundamentally flawed.

This place has been a pretty depressing place to visit the majority of the season. It remains better than twitter/facebook etc but its been very negative. Pleased to see a now minority voice talk some sense.
The only thing you have wrong here is that "short memories" needs changing to "no memories. Its as though the majority of leeds fans have had their brains washed completely of the 16 years of pain ended by one man alone Marcelo Bielsa.

It's going to get worse in the next few days on here, the odd one will be happy though sadly,

Do you mean by “voice some sense”, those who agree with you?

Either way, some of us are going to be wrong. Those you clearly disagree with are presenting more than enough evidence to back their concerns.

Bielsa’s track record shows that he consistently refuses to work with players he does not feel he needs. Has anyone verified his input or lack of it where Orta’s ‘signings’ are concerned? Has Bielsa been forced to work with players he does not want. He doesn’t strike me as an individual who would tolerate that.

For sure, he quit Lazio after just two days, clearly to do with differences in relation to new players.

So once again, none of us want to see us relegated; those concerned that Bielsa’s gamble of continuing in the same vein in the face of our ongoing injury crisis have more than every right to ask questions and realise doubts at this stage.

No I mean he’s voicing sense full stop.
Bielsa took us from nowhere.
He deserves to see this through.

IF bielsa take us down is the club in a better position for his reign - massively yes. Better senior side, better youth side, better financially, better training facilities. Players to sell. Parachute money to receive.

IF bielsa takes us down who gives us the best chance of returning at first attempt - Bielsa. All those other managers got nowhere near.

IF bielsa took us down which manager is likely to still provide us with entertaining football - Bielsa.

Has there been ANY issues with players not playing for bielsa this season? No, unless you consider Drameh. The players are giving 100%. The players care about the club. From the outside nothing has changed. The same group that were hugging each other on the day of winning the championship appear as one.

Stop panicking
Enjoy our most successful period in 20 years
Back the management and players is our best chance of climbing the league.
Whatever will be will be.

I'm definitely in Real's camp.

But, as usual, what you say and how you've laid it out
makes a ton of sense, Kebab. Win today and losses
elsewhere though, and hope is back on.
