Liverpool v West Ham LIVE!

KO: 1730

LFC: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson, Fabinho, Henderson, Keita, Salah, Mane, Diaz.

West Ham: Fabianski, Dawson, Zouma, Cresswell, Johnson, Soucek, Vlasic, Fornals, Bowen, Antonio, Lanzini.

Subs: Areola, Noble, Benrahma, Diop, Fredericks, Masuaku, Kral, Okoflex, Chesters.

Carabao Cup winners Liverpool ensured that every player played their part in that recent cup final’s penalty shootout, with all 11 players slotting home their spot-kicks to earn the club a record-breaking ninth EFL Cup. Manager Jürgen Klopp has now guided his side to 11 straight wins, outscoring his opponents 27-4 in that time, while also mustering seven clean sheets.
The ‘Reds’ are still playing catch up with Manchester City in the Premier League (PL) title race, but it seems there’s nothing a PL game at Anfield can’t fix these days. Liverpool possess the only undefeated home record in the league, winning the last eight on the bounce while scoring 3+ goals in six of them.

West Ham United boss David Moyes remains hopeful of a first top-four PL finish as a manager since beating Liverpool to fourth spot in 2005 with Everton. His men handed the ‘Reds’ their first defeat of the season in the reverse fixture, and a victory for West Ham – for a first PL double since 2015/16 – would be a huge achievement after just one win in their previous 48 league visits to Anfield. (W1, D12, L35).

Juggling a UEFA Europa League run alongside domestic duties is never easy, but West Ham boast decent form. They’ve avoided defeat in five of their last six matches across the board (W3, D2), scoring first on four occasions, though both draws saw them concede equalisers between the 45th minute and half-time.

Players to watch: Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah will be looking to rack up another 20-goal league season, having scored nine goals in as many appearances against West Ham, whose Jarrod Bowen contributed two assists in the reverse fixture, while netting his side’s opener in five of his seven goalscoring PL outings this term.

Hot stat: Liverpool have seen 15 of their 18 PL wins this season come by a 2+ goal margin, a league-high.

i thought robbo salah mane were really wasteful on the ball, keita put in a shift but mf didnt really offer all that much on the ball either. Kinda felt like we missed Matips striding runs bringing the ball out and asking them to come out break their deep lines of def.

We didn't deserve to win. The second half was the worst half we've played. Trent looked tired and didnt try to defend. He was awful. Henderson is scared to tackle or head the ball. Has forgotten he needs to help the defence as well as his first time lobbing passes. Fabinho passing and interception were terrible. Our forward players were selfish. Klopp was worst. Moyes beat him with his tactics. West Ham defended deep with eight players and had two players waiting for the ball with long ball. Made it simple. One long pass and there were off attacking

We were extremely lucky.

West Ham were much better after Bowen went off though. Don't even want to think about this flimsy Chinese knock-off Adam Lalllana replacing Salah.

Dafuq were you watching you knob?

West Ham were lucky Salah fluffed his chance in the second minute. They switched off completely.

That goes in and we steamroller them.

Wouldn't say lucky.

West ham were tripe. That's where they did deserve a thing anyway.

We looked.out of energy. The pitch looked a bit slow and dead as well.mind. zero zip to the game.

The main thing I will say is we have developed this habit of changing style when we score

Today we saw it again lads passing it between themselves 5 or 6 times acting the c1ck. They get closed down, lose the ball and concede a corner.

We seem to think we can do this when we take the lead instead of going and continuing to do what works to score.

I almost wish someone would kick hwnderson up in the air as one of the prime offenders in this. On the third ball back just bash through.....

I can understand slowing a game down and forcing a team to come onto us but this pointless, don't even try to engage in an attacking sense and invite pressure style is frustrating.

By all means control a game but win the thing first.

yeah trent tired? didnt he clear off the line after half way line offside trap? then he won a foul vs bowens replacement sprinting back? thought he put a shift in defensively.

Also stopped Lanzini from scoring.
