I think this says more about women's football than you think. It's unwatchable and not the same sport
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It is literally exactly the same sport.

And it’s often more open, dynamic and entertaining than men’s football.

Take the time to watch some of the Ladies' / Women's football. I was totally impressed when I did.

My wife was a hardened Bolton Wanderers fan. Served her right for falling asleep with the 5-minute face-pack on!

Saw a bit of Sporting vs Torreense in the Portuguese women’s top flight today and there was one challenge resulting in a booking that would undoubtedly have been a straight red in the CL or PL: late, sliding, one leg up thigh high.

No rolling around, no play acting, no complaints from players or manager. The ref did what she needed to do, and the fouled player and her teammates just got on with the game. Seriously refreshing after watching modern men’s elite football.

Isn't same s.3x relationship in the women's game disproportionately higher than any sport? Would that still be a turn on for you?

Women’s football has improved a lot over the last 20 years or so, I think. But goalkeeping and finishing are where you still see more shortcomings. Haven’t seen the goals mentioned in the OP but, well, let’s just say it’s unlikely in the men’s game.

I mean to get myself to a United women’s game soon. As others have said, the lack of cheating and the general spirit in which the game is played is very refreshing.

The evolution in the game really has been spectacular, no doubt due to popularity and investment by clubs.

I’m in my early forties, and growing up, the girls at the primary and high schools I attended never played a single game of football. And there was no professional league anywhere in Europe. Now there are fully professional leagues in England, France, Spain and Sweden, as well as the US, Australia, China and Japan.

There’s a long to way to go in terms of matching the investment in the men’s game (there are approx ten times as many men playing in registered teams worldwide as there are women), which is the key factor in improving the quality of the football, but the trajectory is pretty impressive.

Need to reduce the size of the goals proportional for the women's game for it to stand scrutiny. That is it's Achilles heel. Unless the clubs can find more 6 foot 5 inch GKs... as the men's game requires. Some of the goals conceded are embarrassing for the game. If they go in the corners the GK usually has no chance.

Apart from that I agree, women's football is entertaining and has some very good footballers playing in the WSL now. (Even though most of them are lezzers ).

I watch most United games on TV. It's good.
