JKA

Hearing currently ongoing in court regarding the disputed fee for JKA.

States we probably won't find out the what the decision is for a number of weeks.

What is interesting though is that the hearing appears to be over the first installment only. and the dispute is over 6.7m Euros.

Hopefully this means that the initial findings ruled we only owed this amount and is now a worse case scenario.

I have to say it's pretty clear the club have got way with one, even if found to owe the 6.7m. Avoiding the rest of the fee & a 5 years contract is getting away lightly and only because a pandemic came to the rescue in this regard.

The club have done what most would and tbh what I would have wanted them to do in trying to wriggle out of the deal. However it is immoral behavior and the club have behaved very badly.

Still lets hope we get away with it and do not have to resort to such behavior again.

It’s a weird one, Leipzig wanted shot, his current loan club wanted shot, there was clearly something not right with him. But he passes medical. Turns up carrying enough timber that means he would be way off bielsa fitness. Hell of a strange panic buy… that we all hoped would save our season.

I’m sure we all fight similar contradictions. We want our club to act with integrity… but hell we could spend that cash on a new midfielder.

Chelsea fans meanwhile contemplating an ethical dilemma on a grander scale.

I wonder what the conversation was at the end of his loan spell.
Football was in lockdown.
JKA was on £60+k a week.
It seems to me a new deal between Leeds and Leipzig should have been made…don’t know if any effort was made.
I just don’t understand why both clubs would let a £18m player leave for free.

Didn't he have have issues with long covid? Bielsa said he was a 40 million pound player at his best. Shame it didn't happen. Club did say that they weren't going to gamble on signings, yet signed JKA on the 26th Jan anyway .....

The story at the time was that Bielsa was the one that pushed for him. Orta didn’t believe a player from abroad could adapt to the game in January. I was desperate for Adams at the time and still wish we had got him. Would have been great competition with Bamford and obviously we could really have done with him this season.

JKA was always going to be a gamble. But I would say most of our signings have been and will be. That’s the nature of being a club trying to punch above it’s financial weight. The only way to do is to sign players who exceed the value of the transfer fee and that will involve taking risks that could go either way. JKA always looked to be more than a risk though. More like a desperate roll of the dice. As mentioned above Bielsa rated him as a £40m player if able to return to form but his attitude clearly meant it was never going to happen. I suspect Bielsa backed himself to turn him around.

Milky, let’s all be honest we all do things we know we shouldn’t. And like you said in the football world this is a minor sin in comparison to a lot but we can’t pretend we are acting fair can we. But yes New midfielder please!

Completely forgot we spent 3 weeks chasing Adams only to then go for Kev.

Agree Faith, Adams would've been solid. That gives me
hope when it comes to Orta. He went after Adams and
Gallagher. Both would've been top drawer.

I think the jury is still out on Orta.

I think it’s obvious that the final say on signings has been Bielsa since his arrival. James was most definitely Bielsa’s man in the end.

Let’s see how Orta does in the summer.

I don’t think he’s done a great job at all. But I don’t think it’s terrible either.

White, Klich, Meslier, Raphinha are really incredible signings.

We need to be hitting these more often though
