Son

I was calling for Son to be substituted in the second half
but glad Conte didnt as he knows even if Son is off it he still has it in him to score.

What was up with him falling over for that ball that gently striking him on the leg and then getting tackled by the ref
Also Reggy was also embarrassing falling over for everything and moaning like a baby.

Need to cut these antics out.

I like Lamptey. But as he ages his hamstring problems will only get worse.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's only the one hamstring injury
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes but can he play 3 times a week? He was benched for our game after having played on the saturday before us.

I think he could turn out to be another sicknote Sess.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He's done 2 starts and one appearance off the bench in a week at least this season, and that's fresh from a long term injury and under a coach who likes to rotate.

It's obviously possible that it's going to be a long term issue but we haven't actually seen anything since the injury to indicate that yet
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He has yet to complete a full season in the prem yet. His size is another worry for me and he would be useless when it comes to defending set pieces. Pretty sure Brighton would ask for an inflated price too as Chelsea will probably have a sell on clause. I think we can do better.

We really need some decent backup on the bench, what the fack happens if Kane gets injured, and how many seasons have we been through this, its a joke
----------------------------------------------------------------------

The thing is Kane is irreplaceable...you see what he gives to the team and the tactics, he not just there tapping them in, he starts most of our moves. If we had Watkins or Ings on the bench then there's no way we'd function, our creativity would be next to nothing.

If he is injured we almost need a false 9. Id imagine Kulu perhaps playing there, drifting around, dropping deep like Kane, and perhaps Moura in his place. It's a real conundrum

Son always has these lulls in form and then it can suddenly turn just like that. Wouldn't be a surprise if he experienced a hot streak of goalscoring form now.

We still absolutely need a back up goalscorer who can challenge him when he has his lulls, or just come in to ease the pressure on Son and Kane's shoulders.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Son has 13 alongside Jota. Salah is next with 20 and 5 of those are pens, so from open play Son has been one of the most prolific in the league this season, almost matching Salah.

Son is World class when he's on it. However when he's not he does seem morph into a player who has never kicked a ball before.

As I have said before we seem to get 1 or 2 good games from him followed by a dozen or more "missing in action" games. Frustrates the hell out of me and I probably knee jerk comment in games but in reflection his pace and ethusiasnm is always there and hes a threat as we saw yesterday.

So I think he will always start games for that reason and probably rightly so but I do wish he would work on his consistancy as it would help us loads in games where we need something out of nothing..... and he is one that is capable of it.

but also agree we do need another proven goal scorer

There's no way his form is that disproportionately bad.

Moura and bergwijn and not adequate back up or options of the bench for me, both need to be sold, better to have academy players

FYI...Son has new boots and the studs are not set right as yet.
Stop moaning about hm falling over.
He is NOT that type of player!

Son is quite possibly the most inconsistent player I’ve ever seen. He either scores in batches, or has an absolute stinker and nothing in between. I notice that when a team sits deep for large periods of the game, he’s completely ineffective, loses concentration, grows frustrated that he can’t use his pace. If the opposition doesn’t allow him to run in behind, his main threat is completely nullified.
