On Saturday next week Wolves welcome midlands rivals Aston Villa to Molineux.

Before the international break Villa were beaten at home by Arsenal, their second successive loss.
After their second half trouncing by Leeds resulting in a 3-2 loss, Wolves have won only 2 of their last 6 games.

In the reverse fixture in October Wolves ran out 3-2 winners. At 80 minutes Wolves were trailing 2-0 thanks to second half goals from Danny Ings and John McGinn. In their best recovery of the season, Wolves sealed the victory with 3 late goals from Romain Saiss, Conner Coady and Ruben Neves.

Wolves currently occupy 8th place in the league table with 46 points, Villa are 9th with 36 points.

Wolves will be without striker Raul Jimenez who was sent off in the game against Leeds and also missing will be talisman Ruben Neves who suffered a knee injury in the same game. Nelson Semedo and Pedro Neto are back in training after injuries and may be available.

Steven Gerard will be hoping to have the option of 2 players returning from injury. Lucas Digne and Marvelous Nakamba may be available but Cortney Hause remains sidelined with an abdominal issue.

Villa’s Ollie Watkins has joined Wolves’ Connor Coady and teammate Tyrone Mings in the England squad following a call up for the upcoming international friendlies.

Gem’s prediction: 1-1

Yeah, much as it is nice to talk about chasing the likes of Spurs, they are miles ahead of us in quality.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That'll be why we beat them 2-0 in their own back yard 6 weeks ago then
----------------------------------------------------------------------

We lost to Norwich right?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
WTF has Norwich got do with it? You said Spurs are miles ahead of us in quality. I totally disagree.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

And you used us beating them as evidence they are not. I used Norwich to show weaker teams can beat better ones. Spurs are considerably better than us, make no mistake about that, even after the complete shambles they were early season.

If you say so

this

Steve Bruce described West Brom's 1-0 defeat to Birmingham today as "the worst game of football I've ever seen".

Considering Steve Bruce himself has seen every game involving a Steve Bruce side, that's truly horrifying. Thoughts with all those who had to sit through it.

I have to say I totally disagree that Spurs are “considerably better than us”

Spurs are on their best run of the season so they look good right now. But over the season they have 5 more points than us so the difference between the clubs isn't considerable

If they win their game in hand and go 8 points ahead, would that make it considerable?

im not really sure how we disagree on this

I think our defence is better than theirs, but is that cos we play 2 holding mids too so effectively a back 7

their front line is miles ahead of ours

Win that game in hand and they will have 17% more than our points total. Considerable.

So just a few seasons ago (14/15) we were relegated to tier 3, Spurs (ultimate fluffer club) were finishing 5th in the Prem. One thing I take from that - the gap is considerably narrower than recently and if (when?) Harry Kane leaves for a club that actually wins stuff will likely disappear all together.

By way of introduction, just to say that a mate recently bought me a coffee mug bearing the words ‘Everyone is entitled to my opinion’.

I look forward to much fruitful debate.

Play nicely.

Not sure I understand this comment……..Villa are currently 21 points behind Spurs. That tells me that the difference between us is considerably more than you think!🤔😳

You definitely didn't understand it if you though it was about Villa.
