Greenwood

Thought he was good when he came on yesterday. Playing in the number 10 role with Rodrigo going up top. Two assists albeit one very lucky one. Can be proud of his performance and Jesse seems to like him.

Yes, thought Greenwood did ok, Rodrigo should be playing up top in my opinion.

This!

Rodrigo has striker's instincts. He needs to be up there. James has the striking instincts of my gran.

Most people who have watched Sam on a regular basis will tell you that his biggest asset is ability from a set piece, corners and free kicks. He has scored a lot from dead ball situations.
Lots of our U23's have been written off by those who have never really seen them play.
I look forward to the likes of Drameh, Cresswell, Summerville, Greenwood, Bate and Gelhardt proving them wrong.

And let’s not forget Archie Gray, who seems to show some real potential. Also Max Dean.

Leo Hjelde, Nohan Kenneh and Stuart McKinstry could also also be added your list above. Let’s not forget Kristopher Klaesson, who didn’t let us down the other day either.

The future’s bright….the future’s white.

Kalvin Phillips was one “proven at Championship level….” and proven to be nothing special. Then he was coached by one of football’s best.

These young players have to have the chance to mix it at a higher level sometime.

The issue is that it is a brave coach who is prepare to be left with egg on his face for putting too much trust on youth, but we have seen how many games we were losing heavily with so many experienced players.

How can these kids possibly do much worse.

I reflect back to seeing Costa Rica vs USA in a game two weeks ago, 9 of the 11 starting for Costa Rica were the bench kids, playing against almost all of the US first team and they came away with a 2-0 win.

In terms of physicality they showed they could match them for much of the game.

Just something to reflect on, that sometimes they need to be tested to see just how they handle physicality.

I would love to be safe by the last game of the season and allow those lads to go up against Pontus and his teammates!

i have only watched about four u23 games but was impressed by many of our players but we cant possibly give all of them enough game time to improve them to pl standard. would love to see some of them loaned out for a season to lower prem or championship teams.
keep greenwood, cresswell, joffy and summerville for the bench.

Lower Prem?

I was questioning why Greenwood came on and Joffy
didn't during match thread. Then realized Joffy had his
back issue. After that, it was obvious Greenwood was
a huge add to that game. Him and Summerville.

I'd steer clear of the U18's Mont, their recent game against Liverpool mustn't have been pretty.

I am really excited about Ronnie McGrath though.
