Derby County 2 - 1 Fulham

DERBY COUNTY v FULHAM.....Championship # 42

Friday 2000 15th April 2022 Pride Park Stadium, Derby

FECK the EFL

Brave display last week v Swansea but to have taken a point there would have been phenomenal but in the end it was not to be. I think we all know now and can maybe accept our fate with some dignity and stoicism with the knowledge that the die is cast but hopefully we will still have a club.

Talking of dignity, I have been delving into some of the posts, posted on the Derby board by some of those from the Dark Side. I've got to pick out one poster who's utterings caused my emotions to run from wry amusement, slight indignation, then horror (at his state of mind) at how his ramblings turned into analogies about 5hit and generally rants about mental health. We all know he's posting under a new name with his tagline "its the hope that kills ya" repeating it like its never been used before. I did start to feel sorry for him but its obvious (if he can indulge in pseudo profile analysis of Derby posters, I can do some real profile analysis) he has deep issues of sexual identification nature. Not his fault and hope he gets the help that he maybe does not deserve. Oh, and yes, he lives on his own which is why he craves the attention of others on an abstract message board. Anymore analysis (and I know I'm right) will be when I get further into the thread - or maybe I should just leave alone. After all, it is a Match Thread.

OK, (this is for VC) - everybody is available for selection tomorrow EXCEPT FOR MAX BIRD who is starting his second of three match ban so potentially EVERYONE can score on Banno's prediction league so get yourself over there.

As things get more and more bizarre and incredulous in the wider world with Partygate, FPN, Rwanda, traffic on the M20 and the tanking of the economy, remember we are Derby County fans - survive being a Rams Faithful and you can survive anything

I shall be attending Friday night and will endeavour to keep you informed.

First XI: Allsop, Byrne, Bielik, Lawrence (C), Buchanan, Ebiowei, Davies, Knight, Cashin, Thompson, Plange.

Subs: Roos, Forsyth, Stearman, Sibley, Ebosele, Richards, Cybulski.

Obviously the QPR game is a must-win and will have to be treated like a Cup final so a defensive approach would be likely to fail. Team selection and tactics will be decisive and the away syndrome will have to be overcome.

What is so disappointing is that it need not have come to this. If, from those eight successive away defeats (in which we played well but not well enough), we could have squeezed out, say, five goalless draws how much more positive would the outlook be.

But that is all "would'a, could'a, should'a" and what's done is done. (And I'm not having a go at WR who deserves manager of the year whatever happens; just reflecting on what might have been).

And the fat lady is still not singing. (If that gatecrasher Forest comes on now with the only six words in his vocabulary we will know that he fears for his own team.)

I will die laughing if Notts don't go up, I can't believe some of the stuff on the other post, it's nice that school children are interested in football.

Hi Chicago...I was certain that Paul Ince would save us, but he seems to be doing a goodish job at Reading...the b*****d.

I agree VC. I really thought he would be a disaster for them but in truth Reading do have some good players who obviously needed a change of manager so maybe Joe Soap could have got them playing.
