to turn up in a NLD?
It’s going to be massive.
Obviously moot if they completely implode before then.
But if it comes down to it, I think we’d bottle it.
I actually started to believe after the Villa game. I thought they would realise how badly they got away with it and that first half would be a wake up call.
We play one way only and he never changes it. Easy to play against. It’s basically Joseball with better players.
I think if he’s backed, Conte could achieve something at Spurs. But we’re miles away.
Does anyone trust this team…

Conte’s system is very reliant on the wingbacks creating and offering an outlet to the defence. Doherty playing well enabled us to do that. Unfortunately the other three wingbacks are either rubbish, injured or not wingbacks. That is why this system doesn’t work with this squad. I just wish conte had a plan to deal with that. Wtf was he doing bringing on winks? What was the thought behind that? I just do not get it at all.

I wouldn't be surprised if Brentford copied Brighton's template next week.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It’s not really easy to do. Like I said on another thread there is an obvious template to beat Man City as well (albeit Pep more tactically flexible). Only really Saints and Brighton have pulled it off. Also with the improvement of personnel (a more creative PEH or better wingbacks) we will look better
----------------------------------------------------------------------
From Brentford POV 4 5 1 with Toney up top. Pack the midfield. Circle Kane and give him no room to operate.
If Son recieves the ball with his back to goal, easy peasy. Bully him. Play a low block so in case Kane find space he cannot pick out Son running on to goal.
Not sure what Brentford's fullbacks are like but doubt they are as good as Brightons. Eriksen will beat the first man when they have corners to rub it in lol.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
tbf I think his post-Spurs career has proven that the corner instructions were from Poch
I really don’t think it’s that easy to set up against us, Villa tried and failed pretty emphatically. Not every team has Bissouma and top class wingbacks

Brighton are a midtable to lower half table team, who recently lost six Prem games on the bounce. Our supporters are talking them up like they are prime Barcelona. Spurs had already beaten them twice this season, when not on as good form as they are now.
This was just another turgid slow ambling display Spurs throw in from time to time. More to do with the lack of effort from the players than anything Potter did.
Kane was poor, and I don't give a feck he went on a round trip to the USA between games, it clearly affected him. Kulu once booked had to be careful, so was ineffective. Bentankur went missing. Dier was just lumbering about and bringing the ball out at snail's pace, the just hoofing it upfield. Romero was making mistakes. Regulion was very poor.
All in all the whole team decided to have off days all at the same time.

I'm at a loss to explain it.
We played Pooosyfootball at the back, as though scared to boot the ball upfield.
Brighton took the ball and booted out to their wings and ran into our half.
Romero, Emerson, Davies all had scary times.
Is it the manager's fault?
Scored 4 and 5 in our last matches.
Today, not a single shot on target.
Explain it please

Even as a hardened Spurs supporter who's used to the false dawns and let downs yesterday came as a shock to me.
It wasn't so much the defeat (although thats not good) it was the performance. We were completely outplayed and outfought by a team with nothing to play for who we had already comfortably beaten twice this season. Combine that with the fact that we were at home, had a week to prepare and were on a great run of wins/goal scoring and it just illustrates that we can chuck in a terrible showing like yesterday anytime.
Strange business!

The 0-2 away win was pretty routine, infact we should of won by more, the 3-1 Cup win was harder but still nothing to indicate that yesterday should have been a problem.
For whatever reason the Brighton lads were individually and collectively much better than ours on the day and I'm not sure any tactical tweak could have changed that.

Potter did nothing but common sense football. Brighton played the way we should have played.
Fact is, we did a job on ourselves by playing like a bunch of half-asleep pansies..
