McClaren incoming

By all accounts his coaching staff aren’t that important. He’s the main man doing the training. Not that McClaren hasn’t got a fantastic reputation in coaching circles anyway.

It’s not like Ole thinking he’s Fergie and letting Phelan, McKenna and Carrick take the coaching sessions while he sits there watching Netflix.

I read on Twitter ETH said he wanted McLaren but United have said no or were undecided

No idea why that would be true or where it came from.

I can see it being true - us being undecided that is. From a PR point of view we probably want to be seen to be moving away from this idea that we're a club trying to recreate the 90s by giving jobs to the old boys.

If ETH does want him though, that shouldn't be a concern.

If ETH wants McClaren with him then United shouldnt question it. Just get him.

Nobody at our club is better suited to choosing who our assistant manager or coaching team should be than ETH.

In this day and age they’re crucial.

I think McClaren is a dinosaur and isn’t up to the latest developments in coaching. A bad move.

I am not a particular fan of McClaren but was is it that makes you say he is a Dinosaur? You may be right but he is known for being innovative when it comes to coaching.

McClaren was highly rated as a coach before he came to us, always innovative, and liked. We won the treble with him.
Then Middlesbrough, got them into Europe and their first, and last, trophy since the war.
Then Holland, two titles with Erik under him, who now wants him with us.
So, why not?
