Both have close to perfect penalty taking stats.

To me taking a penalty like that just means the taker hasn't got the confidence or technique to consistently put it in the top corner, after all no goalkeeper is saving that.

Harry Kane is an excellent penalty taker to be fair.

Jorginho's penalty resume is a car crash lol.

Italy won't be at the World Cup because of his multiple PK misses vs Switzerland. He missed the PK that would have won the Euros as well.

It winds up old school pundits so much when it doesn't work (probably also when it does work but they hold it in).

The stats say it's just as effective, if not more effective than what they believe is the best technique - picking a corner and wacking it.

Goal keepers are so good nowadays that unless you pick out the very top corner they'll often save a shot where they guess correctly. The hop, slow down style aims to pick the goalkeepers movement up in time to put it in the opposite corner.

Obviously looks ridiculous when it doesn't go in but for Jorginho and Fernandes their records are far better than most.

Penalty shootouts with Italy has not been good for him, correct.

For Chelsea, he's scored 24/28 which is pretty good. I'm sure Bruno has similar stats at United.
