Most exciting end of the season in years?

(Minus United)

With 3 weeks to go we have a very close title race, very close top 4 race and a very close relegation scrap.

How many seasons have had this kind of close finish so near to the end of the season?

I don't think it's unfair to say Ferguson was an anomaly and Utd are back to where they belong really.

Ferguson no doubt thinks that, in my opinion.

Ferguson was just ridiculous when you think about it. Turned Aberdeen into the best team in Scotland and won a European trophy with them. Since he left every single title has been won by Rangers or Celtic.

Turns up at Utd and turns them into the biggest side in england and one of the biggest in the world. Since he left they’ve become part of the pack.

Truly remarkable manager.

The saying “back where they belong” is just a stupid saying really.

Especially in football. When the history of the game has resulted in so many different clubs winning titles.

Any club can belong anywhere. If that’s in first place, then they have earned that right. And rewarded for it accordingly. That’s kind of how competitive sport works.

Well I'm sorry about that Ripley. Let me rephrase.

Back to what they have traditionally achieved in competitive football bar a few years in the 60's.

Prime fergie at United and Jose at Chelsea with wenger at Arsenal would make it very interesting right now

As are Klopp and Pep.

Both teams have recruited all, it's as simple as that.

Well Liverpool are a yo-yo club before the great Shankley came in. You had an incredible 20 years at that point and have now won 1 league title in 31 years.

I think the point Ripley is making is that it's easy to have cheap digs (as you are showing) but in reality success is never guaranteed and you just enjoy the moment when you're at the elite level City and Liverpool are. It might last a while but it won't last forever

Not the best rephrase Robbing.

Bar a few years you say? United dominated for well over a decade. Their dominance occurred over a similar time frame (give or take one or two years) as Liverpool’s did from the mid 70s to the early 90s.

Don’t forget, prior to Liverpool’s dominance starting in the 70s, where did Liverpool “belong” then? They were a second division club for quite a few years prior to that.

Sorry Robbing, but even your rephrase doesn’t really cut it.

Let's be honest, Pep has stayed a lot longer than expected, and Klopp wouldn't have expected to stay much longer than he has, if at all.

It shows they're fully aware the PL isn't a place to leave at the moment, they've an advantage over Europe's elite in every way.
