He could have maybe stuck with initial position that De Pfeffel should resign for lying to parliament, maybe showed a bit of backbone and maybe asked a question in Holyrood that didn't end up making him look like a tw@t.

The PM should have been sacked already. Or removed.
The government is a big joke. Starmer will never challenge the Tory party, this local campaign should prove that.

Labour has not had an opportunity better than this, with Brexit fallout, partygate & economy in the toilet.

If Labour changes their leader and Tories don't, then the monopoly on government might change in the next GE.

As for the many Scots who may continue to vote nationalist as the only opposition to Westminister infighting. I wait for a leader who will create jobs, build schools, address energy shortages and fix transport.
Sadly, I expect to be disappointed.
