No idea how Jesse will set up tomorrow.
Does he stick with 3-4-3 or go back to 4-2-3-1?
I wouldn’t mind seeing something like
Meslier
Ayling Koch Cooper
Shackleton Klich Phillips Harrison
Raphinha Rodrigo James
Struijk or Llorente could come in and push Ayling to RWB?
Think if Gelhardt plays it will be
Meslier
Ayling Koch Cooper Struijk
Klich Phillips
Raphinha Rodrigo Harrison
Gelhardt
This is definitely a game where I think we have a better chance of taking something than we would if Bielsa was still in charge.
It will be a lot harder for Arteta to predict our set up anyway.
This is where Marsch has to prove himself though in a weekend where we need to gain on one of Burnley or Everton to change the narrative.
Would be delighted with a 0-0 defensive performance and Meslier MOTM at this stage.
Side v Arsenal?

Never mind tomorrow which genius has thought it's a good idea to have 3 fing rugby league games today at ER,

Don, that's a mental decision by someone.

it would surely make sense to play Hjelda at left back rather than square pegging Struiyk there and also play Gelhardt and Rodrigo up top instead of James and iether play him or Harrison on the left wing or not at all.
A point at least tomorrow could even be enough now as Burnley's honeymoon period came to a crashing halt today thankfully for us.

I also thought Hjelda looked very good. Wasn't he injured? I agree with you Macca. Much rather see
joffy up front with Rodrigo just behind him.

Id go
Meslier
Ayling-Cooper-Llorente-Koch-Harrison
Phillips-Klich
Raphinha-Rodrigo-James
532, Ayling and Harrison as wingbacks. Kalv and Klich in front. Park the bus at hit them on the break with James and Raph with Rodrigo the link between.
Don't see the point in going there to beat them at football. Park bus and get a point, we need it.

That’s a good call - similar to how Spurs approached yesterday’s Liverpool game. They got a point out of it which I’d take now for us if offered.

Good article here on what Jesse Marsch is bringing to our struggle to survive the season:
https://www.theguardian.com/football/2022/may/06/four-games-to-keep-leeds-up-jessie-marsch-arsenal
Yes, I know it's the Guardian, but I think Liew is a very good writer.

Article doesn’t mean to do this, but it highlights the biggest concern I have about Marsch. It tells us that his time at Leipzig was a mistake as they had been evolving into a more possession based side. But that’s exactly what we were under Bielsa. It was so much of what we were.

I think Llorente will start if he's fit. Same with Cooper. Are we thinking Firpo won't play? I hope not. I thought Hjelde did okay at lb when he played or maybe have Harrison as lwb.

Wouldn’t have selected him anyway, but just realised he’s suspended isn’t he? For picking up 10 yellows

Maybe the pitch will be better suited to our kick and chase philosophy now though?

Yes, HaveFaith, agree - the change in style is tragic for football-loving fans. Bielsa games were magical at times, the way we pinged it about. But what's more important is staying up right now, and we were down and out at the end of his time. If "street-fighter" Marsch can bring out the Norman Hunter in us, then we still have a chance.
