I have been extremely supportive of the sanctions imposed upon Chelsea (due to their owner's connections to Putin) in the last few weeks, however they now have found a buyer and it begs the question as to how long the sanctions on them should last for? For example at the moment they still can't sell additional tickets to non season ticket holders, resulting in empty seats at Stamford Bridge and they play the FA Cup final on Saturday too.
As it stands today Liverpool fans will take up their entire allocation whilst Chelsea will only be able to sell about 4000 tickets, resulting in effectively a 'home game' atmosphere for one team when it's meant to be a neutral venue. Surely this cannot be right? Thousands of empty seats in the Chelsea end whilst Liverpool's end is like The Kop doesn't sound fair at all to me.
Not to single Liverpool out, but I remember just last season when the government allowed Anfield (for about 6-7 games) to be opened up to supporters on The Kop when no other team was allowed fans in. Hopefully common sense prevails and Chelsea are allowed a full allocation, otherwise it just won't feel fair on them to be effectively playing a cup final at Anfield.
