Steve McClaren on Erik Ten Hag

I listened to the podcast on Spotify a couple of weeks ago. Is the video the exact same or is there extra bits that weren’t on it?

It was a good listen. Can see why he would want him on board. Hopefully we do get him signed as well as his assistant if that’s the team he wants.

I’m also very wary of getting my hopes up on our new manager based on media clips/discussions/interviews as I was sucked in by all the Ralf clips

This is true but I hope Steve McClaren is the kind of person to keep his eye in. Even if all he is is a short term safety blanket for Ten Hag to settle in I think it'll be worth it.

Also understand the concern with the Ralf clips but, for me, I think it's clear that Ralf needs a certain type of player to play his way. Hopefully, the recruitment over the summer and next few windows allows Ten Hag to play the way he wants to.

I find the whole SM thing really weird. Feels like a great chance for United to start everything fresh. No more of the old guard, Ten Hag coming in and changing everythinng. Instead next to him you have a guy who has done nothing relevant in a decade.

I would only have concerns over this if it were a club decision, and not something that ETH has requested.

Perhaps it'll be something similar to Brian Kidd at City.

As Mike says if it's ETH that wants it then that's OK. Not as much if it's a decision taken elsewhere.
