hope your right, it would really bolster his game and make him a regular starter, but that also depends on him staying fit

I thought the performance was fine. We played two days ago so needed to play a ‘reduced energy’ performance which we did, and we’re never particularly optimistic troubled. Despite the commentators doing their best to suggest we were somehow under the cosh, we really weren’t. Their only real chance was a long range hit and hope.

We did what we needed to win. It was fine.

Agree. The only thing Spurs needed to do was get the three points. Feck the performance.

Exactly. We’re pacing ourselves to give the best chance of maximum points from our final games. Did everything we needed to.

I wasn’t particularly concerned at any point. Felt like there was more in the tank if we needed it.

It was not a bad performance on 2 days rest.
Dier and Hojbjerg were solid, Kane did his best. Son had a day off but still had a cracker saved by Nick Pope.
Frankly I thought Lucas Moura was our MoM.
And we really do miss Romero, it shows.

I don`t think any player had a poor performance at all. Lots of tired legs, but every player put in a shift. This time of the season the only thing that counts is getting a result. Performances I really could not give a fig about.

I don`t want us playing champagne football, and drawing or losing. That would be pointless.

Sorry don't agree with this post that, frankly sounds very ungrateful.

Four things:

1. Team only had, I think, 62 hours to prepare after the Arsenal game. Typical ( money first ) PL / TV considerations.

2. Just played a massive game on Thursday which we all know must have taken a lot out of the players, both physically and mentally. That was, for many reasons, our cup final. Those who went would have left the stadium drained and not "come off their high" for at least 24 hours. So what do you think they players would have been like ?

3. There was a bug going around the Spurs camp. Not an excuse, but we don't know who was not 100% fit, but played anyway.

4. Chasing a specific target in such a small space of time, knowing you have to win a small handful of games does take it out of anyone. If a squad of the size and quality of City can lose focus ( CL Semi or West ham yesterday) then why would you think it is somehow different for Spurs, who let's be honest usually are not up to it historically.

Personally I think the team is holding it together really well, have got results lately where it really mattered, and are making as good a fist of it with 4th place as we could expect.
