What next for us??

So our team have fallen at the last hurdle....again. I get that we're all pi$$ed but we go again next year.

At least we'll be in the Europe next season.

But what/who do we need, to help us break back into the top 4?

Everything you 2 have said has been spot on
Regards Saka, i hope its a situation where him being homegrown/fan etc helps him to stay longer, but if we don't improve, and he is wanted by another top club, we can't even hate him for leaving, coz we understand.

Have they even opened contract talks with him or has he turned it down? Seems weird to get to this point without even a suggestion of negotiations beginning. He's vital. You really need to keep hold of him to build properly. If he leaves what message does that send to the others?!

I think they're waiting til the end of the season but they are definitely offering him one. I guess it also depended on whether he'll be getting CL money or Europa money.

We need to progress at least in line with what we're spending. I have zero faith Arteta is the manager to help us achieve that though, with no other destractions, rivals sacking managers etc we're still likely to fall short and bar a a couple of months of decent form we've not exactly played well this season.

With Europa I fear another 8th place league finish next season.

We won’t challenge for the top 4 next season. This season was our chance. We’ll just need to go all out for the Europa and hope none of the big boys in the CL drop down.

Also it would be nice if West Ham pip United to 6th. One less serious contender to worry about.

Wouldn’t say we won’t challenge next season. The way this season panned out it looks like our first 11 is, or almost 4th place quality. The key factor missing from the 11 was a striker. Our main problem was serious lack of depth and quality drop off. Our first choice back 4 only played 9 games together I think I read. Partey missed chucks as well. Everyone gets injuries, but the quality of replacements wasn’t there.

If we add some depth and bring in a forward I don’t see why a top 4 challenge is not out the question if we did it with this squad. It’s something we’ll have to do especially with Europa. Other teams will look to strengthen as well, but if we have a good window, finishing top 4 won’t be unrealistic.

We are going to have European football to contend with next season. Lots of dreaded Thursday/Sunday fixtures that will give Titler more excuses to play cautious turgid football. I wouldn’t be surprised if we finish below 6th tbh.

i hope I'm wrong but I think we'll drop out of Europe entirely again next season and Newcastle will finish above us.

Unless we beat Everton and get a Pukki miracle in Norwich.

Arsenal done insanely well to be even that far up the league, relying on individual brilliance to bail them out. Noticed a lot of Arsenal goals have been goals smashed in really out of nothing.

Arsene Wenger last season Arsenal created 81 big chances. Arteta last season and this season 37 games have created a total of 82 big chances from 75 league games lol. Its funny Arsenal fans think Wenger should have gone before it went all bad when I actually think Wenger 17/18 side was one of the best chance creating sides he had. Makes Artetas or Emery Arsenal look like a non league side in comparison.
