I'm a United fan, not a Liverpool fan.
But away from football I'm a Liverpool fan.
I've always liked the town and people, they deserve better from the government in many ways.
Lots of towns in the North do, but somehow Liverpool seems a special case. The pity of Hillsborough will never go away, its too late to punish the wrong doers.

That’s a cracking article, my ancestry is via Ireland after the potato famine and I didn’t realise how that affected Liverpool in terms of its prosperity and standing in the country. Back to class for me!

…. I was going to write good start in some closure for the families of the 97 but I guess they will never get that now. So let’s just not play that anthem or hymn. We can have games without the pretence and just concentrate on the sport we love.

Was trying to have a similar discussion a week or so ago after the Spurs game, Re their fans chanting about poverty and the subsequent statement by THST. Tried making the point chanting about poverty etc is in poor taste given the cost of living crisis across the country at the mo.
