I already mentioned that as well, although there's no good reason apart from PL arrogance for the CWC not to be valued in this country. All other significant European countries value it, with the likes of Real Madrid and Barca taking it very seriously as I also mentioned.

The FA Cup is always a great trophy to win. The League Cup much less so and there's been a lot of talk about it being phased out of existence as it doesn't really serve any purpose that the FA Cup already serves.

The Club World Cup is considered a prestigious trophy in pretty much all other significant countries even if it's looked down on in this country for whatever strange reason. Real Madrid and Barca consider it an important trophy and they always aim to win it if they've already won the Champions League.

It's very highly prized in South America Superb, mainly because they want to show that they're not just the bridesmaids to Europe in world football.

It's a nice to say you've won it kind of trophy but I'd rather us have played the kids in it and rested the 1st team squad for the bread and butter of our own league!

I never said we lived in Spain. I said that most other big clubs including Real and Barca consider it an important trophy to win.

Personally I'm not bothered that it's not considered an important trophy in England because we're clearly in a tiny minority in the world with that opinion and it's very much a global game now.

Whichever way you frame it the domestic cups carry more value in England.

If you don't win the CL Final and are unable to pip City to the title then your season will be no great shakes at all.

I remember when Chelsea won the FA Cup and League Cup in a season being told that it was an underachievement for a side with serious PL and CL aspirations.

By no other than Liverpool great Alan Hansen.

Doesn’t come close to a couple of domestic cups though, just like a couple of domestic cups doesn’t come close to the league or champions league.
