Left sided or left footed CB

Is it me or does it make more sense to sign a central communicative left footed CB than sign a left sided CB.

Whichever CB we sign they need to be able to play both Dier or Davies roles.

An injury to Dier next season would mean Sanchez or Romero playing centrally and neither would suit Conte's style. He seems to like the central CB of the 3 to sit back and Romero won't do this and Sanchez doesn't not have the distribution to be central of the 3.

It's for both these reasons that we need a left footed CB that can play both roles. Maybe this is why Bastoni is more of a priority than Gvardiol.

I would go all out to sign whoever is the better communicator between Bastoni and Torres if we could only sign one CB in summer.

If we can sign two then De Vrij and any one of Ndicka, Gvardiol, Bastoni or Torres.

Let's talk after Sunday for obvious reasons when our scope of getting quality players should multiply

This match will tell us a lot about the existing players and whether they are ready to win something in an all or Nothing match.

Going away on the last game of the season is never easy. All the home fans and players are up for it as their families and friends are usually in the stands.

Davies has done well at LCB. So if any new incoming CB can also play central then Davies can step in.

Odd that Rodon has had so few chances. I remember him playing early Conte days in the ECL and was crap and got subbed after an hour or so and since then, nothing really.

Might be interesting if we loaned him out, let him build some experience and confidence and maybe he could be Dier's heir in a season or 2.

Rodon did have a rib injury from memory, even when he played in the fa cup against Morecombe, he was carrying the injury

Think he is a better defender than Dier who is just loud and has extra experience. If Rodon is given that experience he will become a great CB because he has the temperament and skills for it. Dier is someone who is trying to pick up CB role, but there is a huge question mark on his positioning and marking,

I agree Rodon looks to actually enjoy defending and I don't see him losing many one on one's which is what we need in centre backs for a 343.

You dont see him losing many one on ones because he's played about an hours premier league football under Conte.

His last actual start was a shambles of a display and while i think we all know he is better than that, clearly Conte does not think he is ready, except at 3-0 up with 15 minutes to go.
