Roasted duck legs, served with a side of colcannon mash, green beans and carrots and finished with a redcurrant and red wine jus.
Washed down with a nice Côtes Du Rhône.
Now sipping away on a lovely Tamnavulin single malt Scotch whisky.
Total cost of food (including stuff I already had in i.e redcurrant jelly): Just over £5 for two meals. Obviously not including the drinks. Not bad at all, and a bit of a treat.
You?
Yes, I’m bored.

Egg, chips and beans with 2 slices of bread and butter, and now just finishing off my daughters leftover Easter egg.
I’ll do an extra 30 mins on the treadmill tomorrow

Anyway, won't be eating dinner for a while yet.
Late lunch was pisto manchego, which is a Spanish-style ratatouille.
1 1/2 large onions
1 red & 1 green bell pepper, large
2 aubergines, medium
2 courgettes, medium
8 eggs, fried served together with the pisto
2 baguette-style loaves.
All local produce.
Feeds 4.
Reckon it will have worked out at somewhere around €8-10.
Washed down with Mencía variety red, D.O. El Bierzo (NW Castille), of which I bought a dozen bottles a couple of weeks ago on special offer at Lidl @ €3/bottle.

Oooooooh. I might give that a go next weekend. Cheers.

£5? I bet the flight to the 3rd world was pricey.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
£3.50 for the duck legs (Morrisons ) carrots 40p, green beans 60p (both Aldi), reduced carcannon mash 70p (Morrisons). Just over a fiver. 👍🏻

You made it sound like you'd actually cooked this but you didn't even make the mash? Ffs what is the redcurrant jus, ribena?

Apéritif whisky, lots of ice, various nuts and Pringles.
Summer salad. New potatoes, feta, tomatoes, olives, tuna. Yum yum.
A St. Emilion grand cru.
Chocolate mousse.
Price? At 76 who gives a fack. It was just right, window open onto the balcony, blue sky.
I'm mortal, how many times is this possible?
Enjoy yourselves lads, it's a once in a lifetime trip.
Unless you believe in reincarnation, which I don't. Not even when I was a Guinea pig.

The jus is 200ml of red wine, tablespoon of balsamic vinegar, a knobb of butter and a tablespoon of redcurrant jelly. I spotted the mash on offer. Saved time and money. 👍🏻
