Thoughts from today

Been waiting, not wanting to talk about this one.

Odds against us.

More selection problems with Klich and Bamford and start to game looked really nervy with Llorente giving it away.

Still looked nervy, but we eased into the match without looking that good.

Goal from Gelhardt and Newcastle score and phew, only for VAR to rule out Gelhardt goal but we're in driving seat.

Our passing was poor, especially Rodrigo and Firpo looked really shaky.

Harrison has a nice first touch, Raphinha can go past anyone, but didnt really threaten.

Second half and not much changes, Greenwood does ok, but nothing special, Koch nothing special, but we're harrying a bit more up front and it pays off, penalty,

Raphinha has this stupid run up but scores his penalties, has to do it today....no problem perfect penalty and burnley 2 nil down.

Surely it's all done, we're safe.

Burnley pull one back, still surely we're safe.

Struiijk on for Gelhardt, Canos on, Struijk reckless in midfield, Brentford attack, canny Canos header, 1 all, now we're hoping Burnley dont get one more goal.......

Brentford used all their subs and now have an injury so down to 10 men.

A minute later Canos takes out Raphinha who pops back up but Canos off, Brentford now down to 9 men.

We just couldnt really take control and it was getting nervier and nervier and 5 mins of extra time.

Harrison scores, were Leeds players offside and in teh way........no, it counts, 2-1 and we are staying up.

Full time whistle all the emotion comes out.

The fans and the players are united, finally they can celebrate together as if promoted as we'd missed this at teh time.

Raphinha in the crowd, loving it, lets hope he loves this place and stays.

Ar runs onto pitch arms aloft. He knows how the fans feel yet here he is trying to take the limelight, its just wrong.

Marsch is going mental and he deserves this moment, his job was to keep us up, he's been deprived of players but he's done it.

Wonderful to see the celebrations from the players, some of whom will be celebrating with us for the last time, some of us might just have extended their career with us.

Radical changes are needed if we're to stay up next season.

Do we retain Ayling, Klich, Dallas, Roberts?

Surely we need to improve on Firpo, Llorente?

How do you get the most out of 30 mill Rodrigo and 25m James?

Can we expect a good session from Bamford or is it time to get another striker?

Can we retain Philips and Raphinha?

All these questions can wait a bit. For the first time since forever, we have finally won the big do or die match when we needed to.

Well done Jesse Marsch and Leeds United, I'm going to have a beer!

Man City winning, all very….meh

You just think money wise it’ll take decades for anyone to catch them with all they invested, spent.

PL is a joke and money talks. Some teams spend unlimited amounts and nothing said by the powers that be because they just have to be getting backhanders out of it. Might as well let putin or kim jun un own a few teams as PL is now totally corrupted and def not a level playing field by any stretch of the imagination

A great, a truly GREAT escape!

Well done Jesse Marsch and well done the players - yes, we performed with a bit more purpose today.

Great feeling - such a relief! Thank the Lord we don't have to play Millwall or Cardiff....or Burnley....next season!

Got to say it - Radrizzani is one lucky buger!

I think JM has now come through his initiation stage at Leeds United, only aging about 10 years, so not too bad and genuinly understands what is required at Elland Road and the Amerucan sales talk I suspect will be a thing of the past and he will be talking reeeeal Yorkshire, Tetley bitter, wippets and chips and curry sauce in no time. Well done Jesse my old cocker!

If they aren’t going to enforce FFP, get rid of it. It favours the top 6 anyway. If Bournemouth want to spend £500m let them…I’m more against teams like Chelsea owning 90 or whatever players, loaning them out and then they aren’t allowed to play against them…seems very wrong!
