Plans for 2022/23 need to begin immediately

Pheeewww!!

But we’ve made it to safety…and that above all is the most important thing of all!!!

We’re all ecstatic and drowning in our celebrations!!!

The point of this thread isn’t to detract from the relief of today, but just allow any of us to put out our immediate thoughts on next season.

Tomorrow’s Monday and the reality is that the work of rebuilding for next season has to start immediately at the club.

So who’s in and who’s out? (It will be painful to see Raphinha leave.)

Anyway, I’ll get the ball rolling by saying we should just offload Llorente and go for James Tarkowski from relegated Burnley.

I know he’s 29, but that makes him less likely to be a target for top 7 clubs and he’ll want to be playing regularly anyway. Above all, he’s proven his quality and I believe he would bring greater stability to our back four. Thoughts?

Who else? Over to you guys….

Keeping Firpo is a step backwards. He's sh. t.

Got to look at best players of those that went down definitely
Tarkowski would be a great signing.
Taylor again i would take over Firpo.
Pedro is decent at Watford
Pukki a cheap back up maybe

llorente
cooper
koch
struyk
cresswell
hedje

i think we’re well covered there

I think we need to look for a striker, as good or better than bamford.

Pukki, just a waste of time for me

He was painful at times. Just looks completely lost out there. Id give him the chance to get fully fit in pre season but jeez we need actual cover there and not Dallas.

"Firpo today was awful, I honestly don't know who is to blame, cause he spnt most of his tim to the right of cooper as a centreback and either he was asked to do that by JM, who if he did is an idiot, or he is the wors positionally aware player ive ever seen."

Exactly this, kept drifting in and you're wondering if he's actually been asked to do this.

The number of times players go past him like he isn't there is incredible.

Yes to Taylor. We have not had a half decent LB since he went. Ship Firpo out if we can find anybody who will take him.

don't you see Taylor as a backwards step.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Who would you rather see starting at leftback, Taylor or Firpo?

Is it the biggest possible step we could take?

Probably not, but there is no way its a step backwards when you consider how bad overall Firpo has been.

Might have been my imagination but did I see Davis training with the first team squad. Maybe he is wanting to give Jesse the opportunity to see what he is all about. Doesn't look like Bournemouth are exorcising their right to buy.
Maybe it is the club looking at their options before deciding where to splash the cash.
Maybe I just imagined it.

No, however out of the two Taylor is the better option, therefore signing him wouldn't be a step backwards
