One team league

Congratulations indeed to Man City. Well deserved title

My question though is ... has the PL become a one team league?

That's now 4 league titles in the last 5 years for City.

When it happens in the Bundesliga with Bayern , in Serie A with Juventus or in Ligue 1 with PSG , we're so quick to label them a "one team league" , aren't we ...

It's a fair question to ask if nothing else

now they have Haarland on board, they'll be even better...it's up to the rest to step it up

I'm certainly expecting my team to be competing better this term, if we offload the dead wood & spend well

Sorry, don't agree with the step up comments. The plain truth is 95% ( if not 100% ) of the other PL clubs are not able to, as you say, step up, simply because City have more money. You cannot blame other clubs for not stepping up, if they don't have anywhere near the financial capabilities. How many of the others could just go in and get Haarland ? none, frankly.

That is not the fault of these clubs, but the fault of City, taking the easy, no need for actual coaching skills, we will just keep buying everything and everyone to ensure we keep winning the title every year route.

The PL is not just a one team league. Yes the same team may win the title 80% of the time, but in the PL you have a top 4. You have 3 teams getting relegated and you have teams that finish 9th and 10th. You do not see that in any other league.

We also have the league cup so other teams other than City get the chance to win a trophy because City just play their reserves so can't really win that trophy.

I don't think you can call it a one team league, on the basis that nobody would be massively surprised if Liverpool won the league next season. A two team league? Yes. There are two consistent contenders in the Premier League, as unfortunate as their identities are from my point of view.

Are you for real?

City’s youngsters won the PL2, u19 and u17’s leagues

City winning four out of five league titles would indicate otherwise, though. Bayern and Juve regularly had challengers but they kept winning. Liverpool’s one title looks like the exception right now.

how can it be a one team league when they won it by a point

two team league maybe but things change quite quickly so who knows what will happen next season

havent Bayern won the last 10 bundesligas? and teams rarely get close to them

They’ve had challengers a number of times. Juve more so, though. But the point was that if the eventual winner is still the same team it is a one team league.

Yep, only twice in those 10 title wins did anyone finish less than 10 points behind them.

Difference between Bundesliga and PL is you know Bayern are going to win it before a ball is kicked. The PL is a lot closer IMO
