92 points, an FA Cup, League Cup and CL would be the best season in history by an English side.

Gotta win the CL first but if we do, it's the best season in history bar none. We are unfortunate that City got 93 points.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No it wouldn’t, League title, CL & FA Cup trumps CL, FA cup and league cup all day long

Unless of course you value the league cup over the league title
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nope. You got knocked out in the quarters of the league cup and something like 79 points. Barely even comparable. As an individual footballing season, 92 points and 3 trophies is the best footballing season by any English club ever.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Even by your logic City’s 2019 season would be better. 98 pts and 3 trophies.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Doesn't include the pinnacle which is the champions of Europe. Arsenal fans will never know how that feels.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You think the UCL is the pinnacle? That event has bombed commercially, to such an extent that even the teams participating tried to leave

The pinnacle of club football is going a major league campaign undefeated like we did in 2004.

Played 2 finals, not scored a goal & won a couple of penalty shootouts
Failed in the premier league
If they lose on Saturday it’s not really been a great season has it?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Would you trade the league title for the CL title? After all, you've got lots of Prem trophies but not a single CL. Genuine question.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Fans, no. Owners, probably yes.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
That's amazing to me but each to his own.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I imagine it would be, Liverpool as a club is a lot more entwined with European football. For me personally, I feel a lot more invested in the pl as I go to far more games for it, I like the European games in terms of getting the chance of seeing certain players I don’t normally see, but I don’t find the experience as much fun as domestic games.

I’m also not too fussed about winning a trophy I’ve got little to no chance of getting a ticket to actually see. It would be nice absolutely, but the experience my son had on Sunday will live far longer in his memory than watching us win a trophy whilst we’re sitting on the sofa.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Easy for you to say as City games are easier to get to. Not many football fans get to see games live. I reckon the few thousands that go to games would agree but 99.9% of football fans don't/can't go to games would not use the ability to see live games as criteria for picking a preferred trophy. Its the age of big clubs that mean something to people on the other side of the planet. Hope you and you're boy had a legendary time at the game.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Absolutely, I’m just explaining my reasoning for it and the city fans I know tend to be similar to me. My sons friends who started supporting city more recently, bearing in mind we now live in Nottinghamshire, would probably say the CL as their experience of all of it is entirely different.

My son had a wonderful time, thank you My brother took him though as I had a stag do (which im still not recovered from!). I followed it on flash score going in and out of signal!

Yeah you're spot on tbh and lucky to be able to go to live games.

Bear in mind I went for twenty years seeing us yo-yo round the divisions, I’m not sure watching the Pearce era in particular could be classed as lucky

You are right though, wouldn’t change any of it as it was all wonderful company.

Well, no that's not my logic at all.

We got as far as possible in every competition whilst amassing 92 points. Never been done before.

Pep has outspent Klopp by over half a billion net.

In fact, I think Liverpool under Klopp aren’t even in the top 10 for net spenders.

City should be walking the league every year. Pep is a great coach of course but he’s only achieved the bare minimum.

If you’re solely basing it on money spent, then United should have at least won a couple of them.

That we’ve spent that money better than them isn’t really anything to do with Pep though (aside from players that chose to come to us because of him)

And United have been the most heavily criticised team in world football.

But the gulf in clout between Pep and Klopp is not reflected in performance. There is literally a point between them over 3-4 years.

Clout of the respective budgets I agree. Think you’ve done a superb job with your recruitment, I’ve said all season I think you’ve had the better balanced squad this year.

It’s not like Klopp is coaching a squad of plucky amateurs to that level though is it. Regardless of money spent, Klopp is often said to have a better keeper, better fbs, better cb, and better forward line at his disposal than Pep, so I’m not sure why anyone would expect such a difference in performance levels.
