Salah says he is staying

Mohamed Salah: Liverpool forward will be at the club next season 'for sure' - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/61583621

Not said he will sign a new contract though. Perhaps he plans to leave on a Bosman.

Either way happy days for the Merseyside reds. Looking forward to watching him next season. Hope he stays for longer.

I think he'll leave on a free myself.

Hopefully he goes nuts next season and we pick up some more trophies. At £36m and 31 years old it's not the end of the world if so, been a great signing.

Yeah agree with this

I can see you lot turning on him if his form isn’t what it should be by Christmas ….we had the same with Eriksen ….played with in himself to save injury and his free move

It does test the fan base no matter how popular the player

Salah wants a free move ….I’d say Liverpool do all they can to sell him for as good a price as you can get ….80-100 million perhaps? (Worth more of course but not when he is free)

Salah and agent have played a blinder but i genuinely believe you have already had the best of him
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Not sure about the support. Wij maintained the support of fans when it became clear he'd leave on a free. Coutinho was supported when it became really clear he wanted out (and was sold in January).

I would be very surprised if the fans turned on Salah in any meaningful way (there will always be some).

Salah has had 1 bad patch and some fans have turned on him. I thought it was online but also noticed it in the game. There are people offended that he has not signed the deal.

Exactly mate

Once that toxic nature starts it’s hard to stop it creeping

As long as Salah gives his all then him going on a free will be okay…..the moment he pulls out of 50/50’s or doesn’t seem like he is running the channel enough the fans will turn

He has Madrid or Barca written all over him but I really wouldn’t be too bothered if I was a Liverpool fan ….he isn’t getting any better now ….sell sell sell

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Id take 31 goals and 16 assists every season if he is not getting any better.

I've binned Facebook and I'm very close to binning this site. I can't cope anymore

As much as fans bang on about transfer fees, you’re better off having him for another year and him going on a free than you are selling him this summer.

Listening to Mane interview pretty sure he'll say he's staying after the CL final, too

I'm surprised Mane is on so little money as it is. Been class at 9 though and it'd be good business to keep him.

Mane isn't the type to chase money. He's very modest, donates much of his earnings, helping to build schools etc back home. If Mane doesn't want to sign a contract it won't be money that's the stumbling block it will be game time and length of contract I would imagine.

this stuff is entirely down to down to the clubs long terms strategy and natural player wastage.

I couldn't care less about players who want to go. theres always another player. see gerrard, torres, alonso, suarez, sterling, coutinho et al.

players come, succeed or not then go. they either get treated as a hero or not by fans but its up to them what attitude they take to a career.

Salah:

first is he slowing up? well the clubs analysts will be all over that and that will factor into the willingness or otherwise to pony up 400k a week for 4 or 5 years. hes 30.

second does it suit us to get his prime years and say thanks? maybe it does who knows.

Third what does he bring to the business side. I would say massive benefits to the club.

Fourth what will he bring in goals and assists next year and the years after.

Finally, does he want to be a legend or just another player at real/barca (i can't see him wanting to go to psg)

Mane:

All of the above can be said but for mane you have to ask what challenge is he seeking with a move to bayern munich. he can go there and all is well but in the end he will also just be another player BUT in mane's case you have to ask yourself if he feels that way about LFC cos frankly salah gets adulation.

I personally think both have slowed a bit and the club needs to pick one and then get in the market. Diaz jota salah sounds pretty decent to me for the start of next season but we need 5. bobby is an issue there so..... if its mane jota diaz it also sounds pretty good.

Player's come and go...he'll still be a legend no matter what and undoubtedly a top 3 player at the club during the PL era
