No one really thinks it is sustainable though Sandy, even though it was against a top side in NZ. We’re just enjoying a series win playing exciting cricket after the utter dross of the last 18 months. That doesn’t mean we can’t moan when England next get skittled out cheaply, it’s not an either or argument.

I don’t even you are convinced by what you write Sandy, you’re just on the wum.

Palmers I like proper Test Match stuff. Not one day knockabout cricket. Reason England are so poor when they leave these shores, is most of the team are just one day crash, bang, wallop merchants.

Is England not one of the toughest places to play test match cricket due to the swinging ball?

England right now are playing to their strengths. If that means scoring 360 in 70 overs or chasing down 300 by playing positively then I'm all for it.

I honestly can't believe you or anyone else would prefer England to bat for the draw and fail than go for the win and succeed. You're talking out of your aaaarse if you want that.

I genuinely loathe one day cricket, and now it has invaded the Test scene.

How many days did each test end up getting to?

Mickey mouse cricket when sixes are prevalent at Test Level. New Zealand were also woeful in the bowling department.

That’s fair enough. Tbh I’m not massively into one day cricket. Much prefer test which is the purist form of the game. But there is room for both, and if England won games playing attacking cricket I don’t see what the issue is.

Micky Mouse cricket ffs

The only time when 6s were coming aplenty was when NZ went on the attack with short balls after tea on the final day at Trent Bridge. Bairstow and Stokes took it on and came out on top.

Talking about sustainability, the more England went on the attack, the more NZ struggled to cope with it and seemed punch drunk. Winning a game from a position where the opponent gets 550 in the first innings is incredible and in recent times we'd have lost by a huge margin. You can't honestly tell me that you'd prefer that. Well maybe you can and if you do, I feel sorry for you.

Crawley being rubbish and Stokes' over exuberance aside, I thoroughly enjoyed the way we batted in this series. Stokes can smash balls for 4 and 6 without dancing down the wicket having a hack and a slog, he's better than that.

Pope with his 2 knocks, Root in general and Bairstow in the second half of the series were all fantastic.

Shall we stay on this thread for the series against India? or switch to the origianl one from last year:

So far with me doing the match threads England have played 3 tests and won 3 tests before that it was 1 win in 17 was it
watch me jinx it all now

Good shout to use that thread

Looks like Billings has been brought in as keeper cover. Can't see Bairstow moving down to 7 so Billings as a straight swap will probably happen although would love to see Brook given a chance.
