Anyone slightly concerned

about the lack of movement in and out at the club at the minute?

i know the transfer window isnt officially open yet and I dont wanna be that guy who is jumping the gun, but there seems to be the normal transfer links but no real movement in any of them.

there is the likes of Darwin Nunez who we are reportedly interested in, and now according to reports so are liverpool.

the links with Timber were there but seemed to have stalled.

of course there if the FDJ rumours that are still flying about but again no movement reported.

my concern about that one is that we make the same mistake as we did with Fabregas only to chase all summer and end up with a modern day Fellaini.

without trying to sound impatient surely this summer if any we should be looking to get deals done and wrapped up ASAP given we have no champions league.

the last thing we want is to be looking at players then being outdone by teams who can offer that because we slept too long on any deals

Plus, ETH is the first manager who truly fits the profile of manager we have needed post SAF.

------------------------------------------------------------------

No PL experience, working only with the big fish in a small pond, no serious trophies. I dont see how his profile is any higher than say Potter or Howe. Moyes was very much in the mould of SAF, able to galvanise a squad, get them performing greater than the sum
Not afraid to use youngsters

Likes attacking football

Able to build a team.

Hungry to work at an elite club.

Big question is will ten hag be afforded the time? Will he have to abandon his ideas to win matches when it will be all so clear many of these players will be incapable to follow his instructions or play his brand of football?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Klopps first season LFC ended 8th. Would United/ their fans tolerate that? Moyes got the boot for less, his 6 year contract ripped up.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Well, Moyes had taken over the champions, so expectations were different; the football was poor and he seemed to have lost the players.

But I don't think eighth would be enough for Erik, no.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

No chance he gets sacked next summer, whatever happens this season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I don't think we can say that. If he fails to get the players onside, we're taking a few batterings and a long way off fourth, he's in danger - especially if another promising candidate becomes available.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

I disagree. We cannot keep starting over.

Plus, ETH is the first manager who truly fits the profile of manager we have needed post SAF.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

You also cannot continue to stick with a dud when a decision should have been taken long b4....Ole!

Spurs sacked Nuno after 10 games - 5 wins 5 losses, havent looked back because the right candidate was available.

From the outside your Board seems to find it hard to make the right decision.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Apart from getting Conte, i dont see that we have missed out on any outstanding managerial candidates for lack of sacking a failing one.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

There is a case to be made that all managerial decisions since SAf have been bad ones one way or the other.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

We had to appoint someone though.

Who would you uave appointed after SAF, and who was available at each point we needed a new manager after that?

That describes many managers including the aforementioned Howe and Potter.

ETH isn't good enough. Fans are getting giddy at the thought of Al Murray standing on our touchline like he's in his pub.

I am not one of them. He will never succeed.

SAF decided to quit rather out of the Blue, at the request of his wife.

And Jose had not long joined a strong Chelsea.

Not as easy as you made out, is it?

No we did not. He announced his retirement on the 8th May 2013 out of the blue hastened by the death of his wife's sister and ill health.

This isn't even worthy of any debate so different are their approaches to playing football.
