Just a quaint meeting of two pals desperate to shake hands at the end and go for a cup of tea

Rugby League used to have a County of Origin contest played every year from the late 19 century up to 2003, called the War of the Roses. It was Lancy born professional players vs them Tykes. It stopped because very few fans could be bothered to attended the games at the end.

I went to a couple of rugby league games in the 90s, St Helens with my neighbour who was a big fan, I lived in Mawdesley at the time so they were the nearest team.
I enjoyed it, really, then took him to OT for a couple of games. Not much comprarison in the occasion, United by far.

But to be fair, fitness and talent, nothing in it.

The difference being we played football on our street when I was a kid,, not rugby.

The thing is lads, the better half is out for a while shopping and café-ing with a friend, so I ttook the opportunity to down a large, very large J&B whisky and ice so am not at my most coherent.
