Reason he doesn't take free kicks is a) he clearly has team mates at club level better at them and b) scoring against 40-50th best country in the world is totally different from scoring in the PL. Levels are way higher in the PL.

Why people read so much into international games I've no idea.

International football is dire. Standard is way below the pl. Whether we won a WC or not doesn't change that.

Because they have an inferior league. Pl is miles better than International football. Not even close. The top teams would spank the best nations. Just find it dull beyond belief sadly. I'm sure Fifa over saturating the calender with pointless friendlies and silly tournaments, just for the sake of it, def hasn't helped.

Good Lord, international football is the absolute pinnacle of the sport.

The World Cup, Euros, Copa America & AFCON are the biggest titles in football.

Club football doesn't attract any mainstream attention. Even with big club games, apart from serious football fans, nobody cares.

When a nation is playing at an international tournament however, the whole country gets into football for a few weeks.

There's levels to this.
