What If....

Spurs went into next season with this squad:

Lloris / Forster

Doherty / SPENCE

Sessegnon / Perisic

Romero / Dier / BASTONI or BREMER / Davies /Sanchez / Tanganga

Bentancur / Hojlberg / BISSOUMA / ERIKSEN / Skipp

Kane / Son/ Kulusevski / RICHARLSON / RAPHINA.

Selling:
Winks, LoCelso, NDombele, Emerson, Reguillon, Rodon, Bergwijn, Lucas

It looks like a lot of spending but with the freebies it would be about £200m. The sales could easily raise have of that.

What could we achieve with that team? Are Conte / Paratici / Levy thinking this big?

I love how they gloss over the fact that i like spurs as much as Liverpool. I just have my expectations in check.
If Chelsea signed perisic, boussouma and richarlison I wouldn't tip them for the title, maybe a cup, so it's funny to see some people over react.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

You have a point. If LFC lose Mane and sign Nunez I wouldn't tip them to win anything
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He has one of the best goal scoring records in Europe this season.
He’s a much better finisher than Mane.

Strange logic, 38 goal/assists in the league and CL this season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
32 of those (26 goals 6 assists) came in Portuguese domestic football though which is a level below the best European comps. 6 CL goals is decent enough. It will be very interesting to see how both he and Haaland adapt to the PL and who does better. Neither team is used to having a true focal point in attack so seeing whether the style of play of either team changes will also be intriguing.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Agree, I think we may play a little deeper to draw teams out as most our opponents play a low block and try and hit us on the break. This could also open up some gaps for the front 3 to exploit.
With Trent and Robbo delivering the bullets you would think Nunez will get plenty of chances.
What are your expectations on Spurs for next season.

This ain't FIFA.

Sebastian Haller scored and assisted 42 times for Ajax this season including 11 goals in 8 UCL games. All counts for shiiiit until lhe proves he can do it in the PL and he managed 10 goals for Westham over 2 seasons.

Mane is proven top quality. Nunez could be anything really. One stellar season in a tin pot league might mean hes the next Haller or the next Suarez. Who knows?? Hence I'd say you're more likely to be weaker with that exchangeable stronger.

Well we’re find out soon enough.

indeed. all I was really countering against was Footyfoot's blinkered view that all.Liverpools dealings will succeed and all Spurs' will underwhelm.

I think the difference with City and LFCs new strikers is that Halaand will add something very different which they haven't really had...power and height up top.Spurs were successful against them as we force them wide and make them cross into a congested box and back ourselves to defend it. With height that's much harder to do. That makes them even harder to defend against.

LFC add a bit more height but have never really had too many problems or a lack of success from getting the ball in the box from crosses. As Ace said they've never really played off a focal striker. I've seen plenty of pool fans express the view that Kane wouldn't suit their style, so not sure how Nunez will. Personally I think removing Manes guile and work rate for Nunez sees you losing a key part of your play,at least in the short term

I think Kane has upped his game the last few years, I don’t think he’d too many issues settling into any top side.
Re Nunez he’s a very busy presser will give us a focal point which we’ve not had under Klopp.
As mentioned it will be interesting to see how we set up.

That squad would challenge on all fronts. Problem is levy will need to fund it EVERY year with quality additions like Liverpool do to win the title. Not just one summer ever 15 years
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Assuming we do have a very good season, our match day income is far better than any team in the PL, plus having an artificial pitch to utilise means increased revenue from concerts, boxing and NFL means we have income streams other clubs do not have.
Also we have not finalised the stadium naming rights, which when we do, will mean even grater revenue into the club. Hope that goes someways to answering your question.🤔

Top 3 finish, still in with a shout of the title come April and domestic cup final if we land our targets.

Conte outperformed Chelsea in the league with the squad we had and it will only be stronger next season.
