Yes I've seen similar articles but what makes you they have signed him, that article at best says almost. These rumours started yesterday, today's stories go like this

There will be other twists until he is signed. He is having surgery to fix an injury and won't be signing for anyone anytime soon but he will sign for us when things are sorted.

That source is quite reliable for Barcelona news supposedly. All the reliable sources for Chelsea say Chelsea STILL can’t agree a fee for Kounde.

You can’t really think this sudden Barcelona news is completely fake? No smoke without fire.

Is he wrong? Why were Chelsea so readily willing to pay 100m for Lukaku but won’t go to 60m for Kounde? Obviously the owners are the difference.

Was more of a question than a statement tbh.

The new owner might have short arms to go with his deep pockets, time will tell but it makes sense to assume they will be more frugal than Roman

Chelsea haven’t done what you’re talking about since the mid 2000s. Only Barcelona and Madrid do this kind of thing now (Real signing Rudiger when the already have Alaba and militao). I don’t understand why players find the bench in Barcelona/Madrid so appealing

Surely the fair way is to scratch every trophy won with that £1.5b fiddle ( I mean loan ) given clearly what FFP should have prevented in the first place.

The difference is honesty & knowing who you are in football is always flexible, and in the majority of cases that sense of who you are is shifted by one person.

This even applies to Real Madrid, they've had the galatico model before it was even a coined term by Perez, they hoover up the best talent in Europe as a business & footballing philosophy. They know who they are, but Barcelona are a bit different.

They love proclaiming how special they are, how much better they are because they do things "the right/pure way" because one former player than manager, at one point in time gave them a massive sense of self righteous entitlement. They're just like everyone else & I'm sure the last couple of years has shown their fans this.

I’ve just read a few snippets of what he has said

He was very much bigging up the way Liverpool are ran which goes with what a few have predicted ….sell to buy ….there are no spare piles of cash lying around to just Chuck at some new players

Of course could all be a smoke screen to keep prices lower when they do start some bidding

It's not quite what he said, and nothing that we haven't been doing the last few years except for Lukaku who was a Roman signing and he's gone. He's commited 200 million for purchases, that should be enough if we play our cards right.
