More of the same?

Happy days if he signs a one year extension. He can be a good player for us, providing occasional moments of brilliance amongst what was admittedly mainly dross last season.

Hopefully if he signs an extension it's because he realises he needs to have a good period of consistent performances with us if he is to get his dream move?

To be fair I think he suffers more than most when N'didi isn't playing.

In a team which maybe is completely dominant in possession his flaws might not be quite so apparent - he tends to go missing for large periods and is slow. Instead his passing ability might come to the fore. However top teams frequently utilise a high energy high press which isn't his game so maybe that's a reason for the lack of interest?

As far as Brendan goes, I can see him in trouble if we head to the World Cup in a relegation fight, otherwise there's little chance of an early departure. I didn't see anything in the fixture list to make me think that we could be in that position by then but who knows?

What's slightly troubling is the lack of news about strengthening in key areas. With Jonny a year older and prone to injury, and Soyuncu seeming unsettled, I'm not convinced that having a full preseason will transform Vestergaard into the top quality cb we need. I've not heard anything about Lookman either.

I know it's early still but preseason training approaches fast.

Interesting. looking at the August/September fixtures I'd expect Brendan to be targeting around 5 wins so how is that a tough start to the season? We're not playing Man City or Liverpool. Nor any of the promoted sides whilst they still have confidence from last season.

He picked out that we paly 3 of last Seasons Top 6 in the opening games.

This Tielemans saga might derail our summer window. It seems like we need to move a couple of players on to invest and we clearly need to change something as Rodgers was at best treading water at the end of the season.

I’m happy for Tielemans to stay with his quality but he has to step back up. It wasn’t good enough last season and he only has himself to blame if he doesn’t get his move.

On the question of his work rate, it’s actually really good and he was superb as a slightly deeper lying midfielder being aggressive in the press and tackle for us. Then last season he just seemed to go off the boil and struggle. It was painful to watch at times.

It’s not a great situation for all having a player who knows he’s leaving though. I’d prefer to sell and reinvest if possible. If he doesn’t sign an extension and is still here I’d drop him. His performances don’t warrant any loyalty if he doesn’t want to protect our investment.

Mersey - Of Course the other alternative is to get a new Manager and see all the players blossom again.

As fans we just need to be grateful if we don't relegated, keep quiet not to make the Players nervous but also get behind the team.

My first target is always 40 points. Otherwise you run the risk of playing the likes of Forest or Derby next season. Oops! Forgot neither are in the Championship this year. But of course that doesn't mean they won't be there next season. In the case of Forest we can but hope!
