A lot of sour people here. If it was only talent it would take to beat out blockhead and co, the probably won't start any game this season. Their price tag will always put pressure on the management to play them. A young boy moving to a new place, to struggle against our dysfunctional system is not the best thing for Timber.

Now half the people talking do not really even care, they just want a "new signing". What's best for him is 2 years at Ajax. Find his position and develop into it

All true, but you can also factor in that he’d be playing for the manager that’s brought him through and knows him better than anyone. So he’d never be in a better position to transition to a new league. If anything he’d be the one our other defenders would learn from with regards to how ETH wants his CB to play.

It's a great lesson in life that when you part company always best to do so on good terms. Especially in a work context. You never know when the fecker will rock up again.

LVG may be bitter. But he may be right. There are countless examples of players who set back their careers by making the big move too soon. If LVG is swayed by his history with United, perhaps it's not his own shabby treatment by Woodward he's thinking about, but the example of Memphis Depay.

As to Nathan Ake and the OP's claim "Picks Nathan Ake in every single Dutch squad despite the fact he only plays about 1 game a month at best for the massive club," I thought it would be interesting to check the facts.

Ake is six years older than Timber. Played 27 times for City last season. During the same period, in the Netherlands' seven WC qualifiers he never started (nor incidentally did Timber, who is only on the verge of the national team, despite playing regularly for Ajax) and made it off the bench once. He started once and came off the bench once in friendlies. And he played in a couple of the Nations League games, where several key members of the squad were rested. He was absent from several Dutch squads last season.

I read LVG actually had an impact on us not signing Timber.
