Raphinha is world class, no doubt. If I was an Arsenal fan I'd be wanting him before Jesus and he cant play in the centre, he's a touchline hugger and cuts in, that's is his strongest position. He'd be wasted in the middle.

I'm not sure he'll want to move there though tbh, i would have thought he'll be going for Champs League.

Barcelona signed Martin Braithwaite and Adama Traore. Them being interested in a player does not make him world class. Is he the best in the world in his position? No. Is he in the three best? No. Is he in the five best no? Ten best? Maybe, but probably not.

He’s neither of those players and his value is 60-80m. I don’t know what bracket to put him in then

I'd put him as a world class player bracket. Starter for Brazil, hardly bargain basement stuff. Excelled and put a huge spotlight on himself in a lower to mid-table prem side.

I suspect if you put his ability in a top 4 prem, Barca/Real type line up - he'd show even more with world class players around him, creating space for him and him for them.

No player worth their salt would ever sign for Liverpool or Spurs ahead of Arsenal.

Remember when Suarez was pleading with Liverpool to leave and join us?

Or when Big Sol walked out of WHL and straight to Highbury?

If Raphinha is world class then the barometer for that level must be pretty damned low. He was absolute rubbish for about half of last season.

He's a very good player, but he isn't elite. He's not one of the best in the world. Mo Salah is world class. Raphinha is miles away from that level.

Arsenal have now bid £70m for Raphinha

There’s no doubt he has world class ability but Lubo is right about consistency of performance. He blows really hot and cold. Now maybe with better players around him he’d feel less reason to try the killer pass at the wrong time, maybe in better sides where he wasn’t the main danger man he’d get given a bit more space and thrive. That’s what these top clubs have to assess when making their valuations. Does he have it between the ears to adapt his game in a better side. He always puts a shift in and on his day, he’s as good as anyone. On his bad days he’s actually a bit of a liability.
