This is one of the strangest comments I’ve ever heard him say

All the time, all the time.
"Even in professional football I had that a couple of times, I wouldn’t ever name any names"
Lineker says he was able to overcome it with his "mental strength", which was more valuable to him than his favoured right foot.
He added: "My greatest strength was not my right foot, it was my mental strength.
"I always had that. It never really got to me."
So Lineker believes he was racially abused because he had a tan and he could t understand it because he was English?!
Last time I checked Sancho, Rashford etc are “English"

I used to shop at the Lineker family fruit and veg stall in Leicester market around 1980. He and his family are English. Stop all this racism cr*p.

People probably were a lot more racist back then, plus kids try and find anything they can to give you some grief so I'm not really sure why people are kicking off at him for telling a story that sounds perfectly believable.

Exactly my take. Certainly a couple of lads in my year that had dark skin had the same. I'd expect you'd find the same is most schools at that time and likely still now.
