(No, not the RDD baiting poster on here)
The movie. Baz Luhrmann, you’ve done it again. Brilliant 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Robb recommends ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This 1 better be gud Rob. Mrs IOAG wants to see it so I won't have much choice, but if it's crap I'm blaming you.

I think you’ll enjoy it if you enjoy hyper kinetic super fast editing and modern music mixed with old Elvia classics. Basically if you liked Moulin Rouge you’ll love this. If you hated it … well, your missus will owe you one.

You seen The Black Phone yet Robb?

Nah, I really wanna see it but they’ve delayed the release here for another month. FML.

Was really well done I thought, Ethan Hawke was grate.

I’ve only heard good things about it. There’s a couple of preview screenings next weekend so I might fit and catch one 👍

Haven't read any reviews yet but based on Baz Luhrman's previous work, I'd expect this to be a disarmingly low-key, gritty and naturalistic character study.

It was ok, but there was too much dialogue and not enough going on.
I'd have preferred a little less conversation and a little more action.

Going to see it tonight. I don’t know much about Elvis tbh but looking forward to it nonetheless.

Baz Luhrmann is one of the worst directors I can think of. His films are disgusting. I’ve heard this is awful too.
Rob what was the last film you watched that you didn’t like? I watched Everything Everywhere All at Once last night, couldn’t stand it.

Woah, that’s a hot take. Each to their own tbh. I really liked Everything Everywhere and you’re genuinely the first person I’ve come across that doesn’t like it.
As for the last movie I watched I didn’t like - at the cinema was probably the latest Dr Strange movie. Pretty meh.

I really respect what the Daniel’s made and it’s great that they were allowed to make what they wanted as it was a huge risk but I just don’t like their humour and the pacing of it was so horrible to watch. It was a 150 minute long end scene with flashbacks and slow mos. My GF is friends with the Daniel’s and says they’re as mental as the movie was which is really cool and like I said I respect that a lot, just wasn’t for me at all. Reminded me of Rick & Mitty and Family Guy which I also hate.

Fair enough, it seemed a very brave type of movie that had the best parts of a Hollywood movie and the best parts of Asian cinema. A potential look forward to the future of mainstream action cinema hopefully.

I think it’s great that it exists and it will hopefully allow film studios to be a bit more experimental, just wasn’t for me.
I do find the Asian mum is tough on their kids story line a bit boring though.
