Richarlison

The more I think of it the more this signing makes sense.

Quite excited by it!

He can play in all 3 positions up front.

I think Conte will mould him into what we would have got had we signed Latauro Martinez.

Thoughts?

I think this does smack a little bit of trying to focus on the positives now it's pretty much nailed on that he's coming rather than any balanced, objective opinion on Richarlison's abilities. You have to ask yourself - does he get ahead of our current front three? I don't think he does. Then you have to ask yourself whether he'd be a happy bench player? I don't think he would be. He'll undoubtedly improve our options but he won't make us a better team.

If we can get Gordon though then I'd take them as a package. He's got massive potential for me. The kid is 21 and him and Richarlison together carried Everton to safety last year. He was immense. I'd be keener on him than Richarlison but I can't see it. I know Everton need to balance the books but they can't get rid of one of their own at such a young age. The fans won't accept that. After the season they've had, there'll be a mutiny if they sell Richarlison and Gordon together.

Name a player who we could buy that would be better than Son or Kane and, ergo make us a better team.

I think the Richarlson deal works on many levels, but is never going to replace either of the best striking partnership the PL has ever seen.

There is an argument that the right had side needs reinforcing, and who is to say we will not do this as well?

In the ideal world i'd keep Bergy, sell Lucas and get Martinez in. But Bergy looks set to go, so that side needs attention....we have seen over and over, even last season, that Son has some quiet periods. The guy would benefit from a bit of R&R from time to time to keep his levels up. Kane threading balls through to Richarlson is a decent prospect because he is direct and a handful and has good pace.

For a 4th striking option, it is a strong one, especially as it seems he would be happy to play that role...few have been willing to in the past.

If we sign Richarlison it will be the first time I dislike a Spurs player.

Problem is, do spurs need to spank most their budget on them two? Seems madness to me. Saying that I think it's likely Levy discussed the idea of Gordon too but I'm sure that was shut down immediately.
=============

On the whole I agree with this. Seems short-sightedness to spend £100m on those 2.

I don't see any benefit from getting Gordon other than fulfilling the English quota.

Richarlison is a handful and he is the type Jose would have loved. Gnarling and nasty. But is he worth £80m?

No. Not at all.

That's a bit harsh..The best partnership up front is Eddie and Jesus

We all love Jesus

Good player , great energy , a menace and a press merchant. Won’t have to spend months acclimatising to our league. Pray to God it goes through. Some fans don’t want him but who else is out there available and most likely hit the ground running . Been carrying a struggling Everton for a few seasons now.
We were lucky last season and didn’t have Son and Kane out for lengthy periods like we have had in the past.
I still remember Bergywn playing up top against Chelsea a couple of years ago with Son and Kane out. No thanks. I like him ..Get him in!!

Good signing for me, ticks a lot of boxes, needs to cut out the diving though, but playing for a better team he may not have the need to playact

Not too happy about us buying such an obnoxious player, but assuming he's going to start, what does that mean for Kulusevski (and Moura)?

hes not gonna start every game, gives us rotation options up front for once.
