I wonder if Liverpool will regret this if he starts to decline ? I suspect he’s got a good couple of years of top performance left in him.

Could say the same about kane. Didn't he only get 1 or 2 more PL goals that Jota, who barely played? Was def not his usual level.

Opta said that since salah joined, he's 3rd on total goals/assists in all top leagues. Only Messi and lewa above him. Kane or Son werent on the list strangely 🤔

Could argue both kane and Salah also only turned up for half a season but Salah was way more effective. He's also winning trophies so I'm not sure liverpool will be too worried.

Hmmm, I see Lessbrains is upset about Salah signing as it means Sрuds are not in the picture for honours again this year. He so needed Salah to leave so Harry Claim had a chance to win something.

Oh & Salah always the bridesmaid whilst winning CL, PL, FA Cup, Club World Cup, European Super Cup & EFL Cup

Meanwhile Kane & Son don't even get invited to the wedding.

So I am presuming there was a deliberate wait to July 1 by both parties.

Before the cl final salah was emphatic about staying next year and most of us thought that meant off on a fee.

This looks to be a case of managing the accounts and getting the new wage into the next financial year for whatever accounting/ffp reason.

It probably spreads the impact of the 3 years in a row thing?

No. Suarez wanted to leave and was given a verbal agreement. Salah wanted to stay. Although if Liverpool were as good then as they are now, Suarez wouldn't have been pushing for a move to Arsenal.

Signed new contract in 2013, left Summer 2014. It is the club's way of getting more money for the player.

If Salah has another great season, i expect him to be off next summer, but at least now we will get decent money for him.

It will be interesting to hear if the details of the pay are ever leaked as to who got their way.

As for wanting to stay -

"I am delighted to have agreed a new deal with Liverpool and have my future secured for the long term," said Suarez. 20th December 2013

No it doesn't. It looks like two parties being in negotiations with both wanting the same outcome and finally coming to an agreement.

Really don't understand why people have to find ulterior motives in everything. Crazy times, the era of the conspiracy.
