Provided we get our reported targets ….
—————DDG——————-
AWB Varane Martinez Malacia
—————-McT———————
————-FDJ Eriksen—————
———Antony Bruno Sancho-—-
Or course there’s a few variables.
1) is AWB good enough? I probably dislike him more than most and wear the ‘I told you he would fail’ badge with pride - mainly as I don’t often get to say it - however call me crazy but i saw a video on TikTok of him doing some extra training on the side on a random pitch so appreciate the effort. Hopefully ETH can work his magic. Though this is Merlin levels of magic needed.
2) McT. I’d love us to get a DM but who knows, maybe Merlin still has some lead in his wand for this mission. Perhaps attack is the best form of defence and we won’t even notice McT. He’ll just be there much like Jonathan in Stranger Things.
3) Bruno up top. 📦 <——- think outside it.

How does this side look?

I’d be very surprised if AWB and Varane start for us in the same team. Maguire will start more often than not I reckon.

Sancho had how many tap ins last season? He isn't a natural goal scorer based on what we've seen so far, in terms of positioning and finishing.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Sancho was in a team that started the season (and then again under the interim coach) aspiring to press more aggressively, and which had the least pressing centre forward in Europe up front. This could be relevant when assessing the positions Sancho found himself in. At Dortmund he was buzzing around the box all the time.

We don’t score tap ins because our build up play is crap.

I think we are all aware Sancho didn't join at a great time, but we can also objectively assess his performances as an individual and he came up short more often than not last season.
ETH seems the perfect manager to get the most out of him though so fingers crossed for a big improvement this season.

NGL, it looks really bad.
Only Varane and Sancho are TTTs (top tier talents).
For a small club like Liverpool, for example, only 2 TTTs is fine. For a big club like United, it’s not enough.

Has TTT replaced blue chip?

Hopefully not and where was any mention of clutch players who have won a couple of chips?

Lol - I think TTT, blue chip and clutch can all exist happily together.

Sancho is pretty good at keeping possession. Obviously if he's slipping passes into heavily defended half-spaces, he'll lose the ball sometimes, but I think he takes care of the ball well and isn't as tempted to go for the impatient hero ball as Bruno.
As for the Antony / Sancho comparison, I also haven't seen that much of Antony, but get the impression he's a bit more reliant on flair, and a bit less of a cerebral constructor of attacking patterns than the Sancho we know from Dortmund.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He’s going to have to improve massively from last season.
