Some fans seem a bit unhappy that we have got Clement Lenglet on loan fro Barcelona, I was just wondering why?
A few facts about him: He is 6ft 1in so along with Dier who is 6ft 3In and Christian Romero who is 6ft 1in, we certainly have height in the middle of the defence.
Lenglet is one of Franceβs best ball-playing defenders and reads the game impeccably. He has succeeding Umtiti in Franceβs defence and despite having a torrid time at Barcelona, remember Conte is good at rejuvenating players to perform well.
Both Kulusevski and Bentancur were have an indifferent time at Juventus, yet their form since arriving at Spurs since January has been nothing short of amazing.
Whether he starts or is cover for Davies (who I think is vastly under rated by some Spurs fans) I think he could help us challenge for trophies this season.

I don't rink any rival fans are unhappy spurs have signed him. Excellent, in fact exceptional passers-by if the ball....just cannot defend. So he will be a good replacement for dier, sanchez, rodden or any of the other spurs CBs that cannot defend
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That would be those rubbish defenders who conceded just 8 goals in the last 14 games of the season, including 8 clean sheetsTake your tired lazy opinions elsewhere.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well if wpurs had a good run of form for 14 games then the titles inevitable πππ

If Lenglet is in the French National squad, he can't be too bad, despite France's recent run of results.
I do not remember if he played, and how he played, in those games.
One thing's for sure,...our defense needs upgrade.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Its an interesting balance to be reached because Davies has been very good at LCB, committed, throwing himself at shots and making some great blocks. He's also a real committed competitor.
However, we lack on the left the quality ball playing we see coming from the right side and Romero.
Lenglet will inevitably improve the playing out on this side but will he have the same defensive solidity and commitment as Davies?
At least it's a loan and we're not spuffing 10s of millions at this stage.

Conte has only been in charge for 28 league games. The last half of that, after our Burnley defeat, coincided with the new signings settling in, the team better delivering what Conte was instructing them to do, and the return of Romero.
No one is saying that we will challenge for the league, although our form in that time was within 1-3 points of that of Liverpool and Man City, just that it was clear that Spurs were starting to understand what Conte wanted and started to deliver. P14 W10 D2 L2 F38 A8
14 games is a decent sample size, and weve added depth to that which should help our chances of maintaining these sorts of levels.

Because he’s sheite.

Cannot say I know anything about him Ace, so will judge him when I see him play.

What a refreshing change.....a fan that has the sense to not judge / write off a player before they actually see him play.
Well done mate. Agree 100%. Plus Conte wants him, and I am fairly sure he knows a hell of a lot more than these "experts"

100 per cent correct. Spurs are being as usual dismissed far to easily. The last third of the season was as strong as any team in the Prem. With a full Conte season and new players bedded in, I think the season looks very promising for Spurs.

Yeah, i dont see a title challenge but I do think we'll see more sustained good results, with less Saints/Wolves/BHA blips. Fully expect us to be in the mix with Chelsea. Arsenal have bought well so they will probably be there or thereabouts. United are a mess and ended 14 points behind us. If we improve then they will have to improve massively to close that gap and right now they dont look like they have the quality to do that.
We've average 2pts a game under Conte, despite all the upheaval, squad issues, no pre-season or summer window. I think we can expect 2 pts a game minimum really given the improvements.

Agree with your assessment other than about Arsenal having a good season. They have spent a lot of money, but they really don`t have a strong team, lots of expensive players, but how many real match winners? They have purchased Jesus, but is he really going to score 25 goals a season? Other than that where are their attacking threats? Their defence looks pretty weak as well.

Lenglet will be a disaster if we go 2 at the back - which we won’t. 3 at the back he will be superb, he is unbelievably good on the ball for a defender and his short comings are easier to cover in a 3.
Conte will be training him to within an inch of his life this summer to understand the system - where to be at all times.
If it doesn’t work - we’ve lost no money and have cover.
The more important signing is the other CB we bring in - get that right and we will be surprising a few on this board, we’re brewing something tasty

Do Liverpool sign players based on whether their rival fans are unhappy or not?

Any defender who is a ball playing one, is an instant improvement on Davies, imo
