I like to be cheery on a summer evening.
So, as some may know I had a heart operation four years ago, plus a smaller later, then neuralgia.
To be clear, none of this is a complaint, it's just that my doctor has made it clear that I'm not here forever, quelle surprise.
In simplistic forms being dead is not a problem to me, because I consider it to be exactly the same as before I was born.
However I don't want to suffer on the way.
As far as I can tell, none of of it is imminent, so I hope to be contributing to articles for some time yet, maybe even a decade.
How about the rest of you, I don't know your ages, sauf VC,
but you can't all be under forty. Any thoughts, plans, fears, for the future, and can we still be arrogant vs Liverpool and City fans? If not I'm not dying.

I agree with term I think it was here.
I'm not religious by any stretch but the idea that we are where we are, typing away on laptops and phones, communicating from all corners of the planet about football, coming from what is essentially a completely random series of events (which is essentially what evolutionary mutations were) is quite inconceivable to me.
But anyway life is great, but I'm only 31
My advice to anybody is to meet and get to know people from as many different backgrounds as you can, visit as many places as you can and live our your passions / hobbies as best you can. Leave nothing on the table so to speak.

The one thing I've learned over the years is that memories are the important thing for you and your loved ones. Don't put off doing and sharing things together.....wait a minute, that's two things! 8 years ago I was as good as dead. Still am not 100 % but here so all good.
Someone above mentioned the James Webb Telescope. Finally proving the complete claptrap that religion is. Biggest mistake and stain on humanity. Sorry if this offends anyone.
I wasn't alive for 13,499,999,948 years since the universe was born. Think I can cope with death until it all starts again !!

I'm going to give it my best shot.
My doctoer, a woman, is somebody I trust implicitly. We were have a coversation about holidays, and she said "you are of an age where it is good to have projects" " but do them now, not in years to come, you won't be here in years to come"
Voila, I didn't ask for more explanation, but I could tell nothing bad was imminent, but best not to make plans for ten years hence.
Which is fine with me.
