I hate hate hate hate hate hate the whole ‘coming from a spurs fan’ or ‘you can’t talk about trophies, what have you won’ mantra some fans have. As if they are more qualified because they picked a team and equate it with personal success for their own pathetic life.

He said earlier in the summer that he had valued the player and the club will hold out. Now he's backtracking and making excuses for what appears to be a bit of a climb down from their £20m asking price. And he contradicts himself by stating the player has hardly played, 1 good season, and yet he put such a high value on him.

I know Spurs fans get frustrated with how we do deals sometimes but this is a clear example of waiting, and not throwing millions away. Looks to me to be in the slightly cheap side of a good deal in this market (£12.5m). Good business and a player I am really looking forward to seeing.

Boro know they’ve been bent over and trying to make it look like they got a good deal. If it was a good deal for them it would have been agreed ages ago.
