Aaron Mooy & the Celtic standing stillness

Fabrizio said it so it must be true - Aaron Mooy will sign a one year contract with option for extending by a year. At age 31 I'm happy with the signing. It is on a free and fills the gap left by Rogic.

He was decent in the EPL so I see no reason not to think he won't do well. None of Postecoglou's have been major marquee signings, he signs players that fit the system so we have to trust that Mooy is the right guy.

I'm not sure if this constitutes us standing still or not, need to consult the 3 Rangers fans on here who like to talk about Celtic but as things stand I am looking forward to this season. Last season was a write off when we were told our manager was going to be a disaster, the league was already won by Rangers in September. I have a sneaking suspicion that this season we may be able to win it so long as we don't stand still while Rangers go from strength to strength.

Mon eh Celtic

I’d much prefer either Lawrence or Matondo on the right over Wright. Wright is a good squad player, and impact player off the bench, but nothing more unless he improves his consistency and decision making massively.

Another positive for me was McLaughlin coming off his line a few times, a smart stop one on one, and claiming a couple crosses, couldn’t see what happened for their goal but apparently should’ve been a free kick. Hopefully a sign that he’s no.1 this season, as he’s be an improvement on last seasons McGregor

what we can say however is on early viewings Matondo looks like an improvement over anyone we have had on the right hand side since ???? god knows how long? pre 2012?!
----------------------------------------------------------------------

He certainly seems to have the attributes and did have a decent season in Belgium.

But he has only played half a game at home against a team that wasnt sitting in so there was plenty of room for him to make the most of his key attribute - his speed.

I am optimistic but will be reserving judgement until I see what he can do against packed defences, getting repeatedly halfed by the hammer throwers in our league and getting absolutely no protection from the referee.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I still think he looks miles better than anyone we have ad the last decade or so... he instantly look to have more in his locker than Wright, Ohallaron, stewart, waghorn etc...
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I think Wright blew his chance big time last night.

Matondo has come in and willbebreathing down his neck. Last night was a chance for Wright to step up and show he is good enough.

He was very poor and was actually hiding last 10-15 minutes of the first half.

Think Wright will be adoption a permanent position on the subs bench for the coming season.

If his head isnt in it or his confidence is down he is Maurice Ross with a cross

Poor Mo - took Cowdenbeath right out the leagues so he can say he went one better than Rangers!

Celtic will have to find a way to deal with that because he was massive for you in the cup semi. Blockers or near post & short corners only probably?

Wait, does not living in Bearsden off that money affect things?

Zoe does indeed. Mrs Silver enjoyed a fine evening at theirs at the start of summer.
